Top 4 finish?

Our Season is unravelling as we watch. An FA Cup exit at Chelsea, defeat at Spurs and in Europe beckon... All rather unnecessary as a couple of shrewd loans or signing in january to energize the squad could have made a difference. Pinches himself and tries to recall last time we made a shrewd signing.

Like your confidence but What makes think that by the way we are playing ? Spurs, Arsenal and Leicester have all the right qualities in terms of the balance of the team and work ethic of which we have none. This next set of fixtures will a stern test thats for sure. Personally I think we'll be 5th or 6th this year, were all waiting for this team to click but theres no sign of it, just flashes of individual brilliance and slices of luck that is somehow getting us by.

If Manure beat Chelsea tomorrow we will start to be looking over the shoulder for sure.

Of the other sides really like the way Southampton are organised , 5 clean sheets in a row.

If we keep conceding hapless goals at the rate of knots we are we have little hope.

we are more likely to win the title then finish outside top 4

I'll have some of what you're smoking. That felt almost like the changing of the guard out there today. A slow, small, unbalanced, lightweight team, on its last legs, overseen by a manager who gets his team selections and tactics wrong with monotonous regularity, and who frequently has to ring the changes at half time to compensate for his initial fuck up. We're only in the top 4 courtesy of barely deserved late late winners against such footballing luminaries as Palace, Norwich, Watford and Swansea, not to mention a travesty of a result at Sunderland. And against the top 6 sides we've mustered 3 points from a possible 21, plus we've been unceremoniously gubbed by Liverpool, Leicester, Stoke and Spurs. I'd love to know what it is about our performances in any of the games mentioned, that makes you think we won't lose to Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal in the weeks to come, with a fair chance of a reverse against Chelsea and the rags too. I'd say that 4th is the very best we can hope for, based on form, and I wouldn't be in the least bit surprised if the rags rein us in

This has been coming for a while because too many blues have been hiding behind the mistaken belief that everything will suddenly click

The moaners were temporarily silenced after the Watford game, mainly along the lines of “Sign of a good team to win whilst playing badly”

Similarly the Silva doubters were greeted with “Form is temporary…..”

Fair enough, but then we had exactly the same arguments after the West Ham game, and the win at Sunderland.

We could easily have lost all those games, so something had to change.

Either, we’d start playing well, or an opponent would eventually score those open goal set pieces that Watford, Sunderland (and even Palace the other week) were missing.

I don’t have a problem with Silva, but the debate over his form is a microcosm of City’s whole season. Nothing positive apart from blind optimism ( and nasty aggression to the doubters) that eventually it will all work out okay.

So, here we go again. Same arguments that actually go back to the games at Loftus Road and Turf Moor last season.

Something has gone terribly wrong, and the only thing that’s saved Pellegrini is the carnage at Stamford Bridge, and the Swamp.

Feel free to sneer if we win the Premier League, but right now, I’d settle for 3rd and the League Cup.

I fear we won't win anything this season and do you know what i am very disappointed all that talent and money paid out on a weekly basis and nothing to show. as the last post says something has gone seriously wrong. Will pep solve it who knows!!! 13 games left we have done it before maybe again ( don't do a 2012 season on me i fear my heart won't take it!!)

Title decider for us passed us by today. Leicester won't win it. But for sure neither will we. It's Tottenham for my money.

Said it on here months ago , if Pelle picks the right team then we have a chance , he has gone part the way there by playing Yaya less and less but yet again today he picks a team that just looks all wrong

Delph on the left ,

Sterling up front

Yaya in midfield

Kolarov against mahrez

Silva on the right

He's a total bellend for me , not even fit to be mentioned in the same breath as Mancini

This needs to be a watershed but it won't be , we will get fourth as the players will turn it around when they need to ,just like last season when it seriously looked in doubt

Roll on next season it can't come soon enough

I would definitely take Top 4 right now. A match we should've been up for and we totally pissed it. Imagine getting Guardiola in and we start out in Europa League. I can't imagine a more disastrous scenario.

That Sterling up front one was bizarre. He was muscled off the ball every time it went near him. I can only guess they wanted to use his pace against them CB but it didn't work.

We are stacked with CMs. I'm of the opinion that this is our biggest issue ATM. Delph was the one shunted out wide today, it has been Silva in the past. De Bruyne is a number ten. Our only natural width comes through Navas and to a lesser extent, Sterling. Square pegs in round holes, we have no shape attacking or defending. Allied to Yaya having a fucking terrible season, explains a lot of what has happened so far. Pelligrini is tactically naive and gets some very basic decisions so very very wrong.

The target now is top 3 for me. We go again in the summer with assured CL football and hope that Pep can sort out the stinking mess that we currently are.

I would think that there is a get out in such circumstances.

Could not have put it better myself. Where we currently are on the back of some fortunate results. Does not bode well for the last 13 sadly

well considering we are 7/2 for the title and 10/1 to finish outside the top 4 ......id say there is more chance of the title

we are at most 1 point behind spurs and arsenal with them both to play at home.
6 behind Leicester are they going to have the bottle??
my only fear with Leicester is are the other teams going to destroy the dream when they have very little to play for.....perfect example being Chelsea last game

was looking at the results from 13/14. Beginning of Feb we lose at home to Chelsea and then get a shit 0-0 away to Norwich. The following week we went to Chelsea and won. Today was our Chelsea, Arsenal won't suffer the same problem we did next week and we'll beat Spurs at home. We'll have Vinny back the week after and go through the rest of Feb and March unbeaten whereas Leicester will find the favourites tag too much to cope with as lower ranked teams start to park the bus against them instead of thinking they're only Leicester and have a chance. Arsenal are still our closest title rivals and our game against them before the end of the season will decide if we win the league at home then or at Swansea the week later.

#Believe #Together

There are 2 teams more consistent than us , Leicester and Spuds , we are on a par with Arsenal , the only way we will fail to get top 4 , is if the Rags or West ham put a good run of wins together , and the games are running out. We only need to cobble together seven wins from 13 league games to guarantee top four , which is mid table form , if we cannot achieve this , then we do not deserve to be in the champs league anyway.
