It's the ridiculous injuries that have potentially derailed our season

Never known anything like it

If we had a full strength squad we would be breezing this league

We have constantly had either injuries or players coming back from injury

So much so that we have barely had a settled first 11 since the beginning of the season

Look at Leicester yesterday..they played like a team..a consistent one who have been fortunate not to have any long term set backs on the physio table..coupled with the fact they are not fighting on all fronts for trophies..fit..rested and hungry for it..it doesn't matter how many world class individuals you have in your team..if there is no consistency you will lose as often as you win

It's the elephant in the room that nobody is seemingly acknowledging

We have been desperately unlucky with injury this season

Short answer - Injuries have impacted on us obviously but it's up to the manager to get the best out of the players available to him

Sorry whilst injuries haven't helped the manager is useless and it is as simple as that, the amount we have spent on the squad it is slightly embarrassing trying to use this as an excuse, let's hope we sneak something before pellekeegan departs

The truth is its a bit of everything right now mate.

Pellers is stubborn as fuck but all managers are the same.

Injuries have dealt us a hefty blow but its a squad game and we have to find a way of coping.

Players have just gone missing in action. Great when its going well but when its time to roll up the sleeves and do some dirty work, plenty just dont want to know and that applies to our goldn cows.

This summer is all about change and the next step and it shouldnt just stop at the manager. The squad needs a re build and players who will do what is asked of them.

No. Even with the injuries we still have more than enough to absolutely piss this league. What we have produced so far is bordering on shameful.

Sorry mate, this isn't allowed to be discussed as a factor in our performances. This always has and always will be just seen as an excuse, rightly or wrongly.

That's beside the point though..we have still been well and truly hamstringed by them..key players out for vast swathes of the season has turned us from being the best team on paper in the league to a 'very good' team in the league..small margins for cups/titles

Every team has injuries, the odd time when I think we only had a couple out we were as dire as usual.

Management chose the training and recovery periods. Most our injuries have been muscular. Its small detail like this that Pep will be all over!
Therefore Pellers has to take some responsibility for this!

The injuries have impacted, no doubt, on the goals and points haul but we have a very expensive squad and probably, unlike most teams in the bottom two thirds of the league, two players, and decent ones, for every position. I think the problem is Pellers seeming inability or reluctance to set up a team having gauged who the opposition are and what would be their most likely game plan. Yesterday was the classic, same with Liverpool. We were shafted at Tottenham but next week I expect the same kind of inadequacy. We could be overrun again! International footballers with seasons' experience should not be playing like that.

Shameful?

You want shameful look at the current champions

We are not even close to 'shameful'

I think we touched it yesterday. My ERO texted me with the word 'Embarrassing'! City will never embarrass me - I've seen too many shit teams - and they won't shame me but I think a fair few found yesterday just a teeny weeny bit shameful!

It just goes to prove that the players available to him aren't good enough then.
I said earlier in the week that i'm amazed how we're still fighting on all four fronts with the defence we've got.
To go the rest of the season having to play a 35 year old as centre half, left back that can't defend with no pace and a right back in decline then we will be doing well to make top 4 to be honest.

Vincent's standing goes up every time he doesn't play, but we have spent over 60 million on two CBs. It wouldn't matter if we had Bobby Moore and Franco Baresi playing for us Pellegrini's inability to organize the defensive side of our team has been our undoing. I am not sure he is even interested in that side of the game.

We can dispatch mediocre teams but our inability to cope with any half decent side with a plan is costing us.

Even the few times we have been injury free the manager is constantly changing the team.
We never have a settled back 4
We rarely have a balanced midfield.
This was happening before all the injuries and it has happened in previous seasons too.
Injuries and suspensions are part of the game, you don't compound those problems, by continually tinkering with the team.
Ranieri was the original Tinkerman,he sure has learnt that lesson

I just hope targets are sewn up for the summer.

If we have a squad of 21 senior players with one of them being Richard then please tell me how we have two players for every position.

Another question, Pellers got it right at Leicester a couple of weeks back, didn't he? Better finishing and we'd have won that one ( or maybe being awarded the penalty we should've got ). So tell me did he gauge them before playing?

We have played 8 more games than them to date, rotation is necessary. A knock can be picked up midweek that keeps you out for weekend but if you had a week recovery ( like Leicester do ) you have a better chance of being fit and keep your place in the XI.

These things aren't excuses, they are contributing factors. To ignore them is folly when assessing performance.

I agree although I think we compound the problem by not using our squad players effectively: Sagna should be the man to cover for Kompany and Mangala, not Demichelis. And Toure should not be starting full stop. But the major problem is injuries.

The injury list published by the BBC and Skysports recently shows that City are by far the worst affected team, and there doesn't seem to relate entirely to numbers of games played either. We have either been very unlucky, and maybe there's an unknown(s) reason for our injury problems.
