Why do you respond with a Samir Nasri gif?

Kean Bryan isn't small. In fact, when I've seen him he looked like that kid that just got into the school team because he hit puberty way before everyone else and physically abuses the opposition's smaller, more technical players. Plus I don't think Suarez had fully grown when he left us, he was never 6ft in those preseason games.
I don't think there was any lack of commitment but more so a lack of ideas. As a couple of people have already said some of the issues on Thursday night looked like the same issues we see from our first team week in week out.
It looked to me like they came up against a well organised, packed defence and some very technical players in a blue shirt didn't have an answer to breaking it down. That itself causes play to be at a slow tempo and a lot of sideways passing and invites the opponent to play the counter attack which United done.
I don't really have an answer to it, but even the first team have plenty of pace on the wings with Sterling and Navas (when fit) but how often are they up against packed defences. As a club, from the first team down, we need to work on a solution to these problems.
P.s. I thought Tosin Adebariyo (sp?) was an absolute rock. And it's not the first time I've watched the eds and thought that.
Being a poor club manager doesn't mean you can't do an important job with young players. Les Reed and Paul Hart were awful managers but had terrific records in developing young players.
Redfern was head of the Leeds academy and reserve team coach so he has pedigree at under age level.
I meant the eds ladsyou spanner! One? Just one?
We've played loads of medicore games under pellers. And most of them have taken place since the 1st half of 2015-15 season. The fact is that in most of them we showed no game, but could still grab a point or three should referee not be a blind wanker.
Pellegrini's non-acquaintance of youngsters as well as luck making a fair % of his sucess or his monotone game and absence of decisions adequate to reality, have been clear since his first season. Since his second season, it has become a problem.
Glad we've finally got rid of him. Hopefully Pep will be as good here and as involved into the game, youths, etc as he's said to be.
You didn't quote a message, how would I know? The game v utd wasn't actually that bad besides the result.I meant the eds ladsyou spanner!
Interesting words from Celina about Pellegrini today "He tells me i don't need to show my skills. It doesn't make me a better player. He says to keep everything simple and not to lose the ball"
Basically confirms my suspicions i've had for a few years now that our players are under strict instructions not to take people on. First it was Nasri, Then Navas and then Sterling and even KDB. All of them regularly took players on at their previous clubs then they came here, looked lively for the first 2-3 games and then had it coached out of them. Sterling in particular was bought for his directness and ability to take a man on yet we have a manager that tells him not to do the one thing his entire game is based on. Can't wait to see him thrive under a decent manager.
The quote says that Pellegrini values possession of the ball, Guardiola will be exactly the same, he won't tolerate any player losing possession because they are trying to pull off tricks.

Guardiola won't be exactly the same. Their two styles are very very different. Pellegrini is a lot closer to the tactical turtle's style than Guardiola's. Pep's predominantly a possession manager but he doesn't restrict players like Pellegrini clearly does. His teams always take risks by both taking people on and with risky passes, they just work tirelessly to retrieve the ball if it doesn't come off and then try again. At Barca he had Iniesta, Messi, etc that went past players, At Bayern he had Robben and Ribery and now Costa that all love to take people on. We've got Sterling and the others i mentioned that are all capable but never do, Celina's words explain why.
He is probably telling him to keep it simple because he is a young player. You can criticise Pelle for a few things, but one isn't that he doesn't allow his players to express themselves.
We don't keep the ball anymore though.I don't think this confirms anything and is just common sense.
By "skills" I'm guessing he means showboating and there's a difference between that and taking a man on. I think you're right in that our players are told to value keeping the ball rather than risking taking on their marker but I just don't think these quotes prove that at all.
We'll see numerous tomorrow. Probably Tosin, both Garcias, Celina and Barker or Faupala starting. Humphreys possibly too, but I reckon he'll go for Adarabioyo alongside Demi.
Personally think it's a case of them being thrown to the wolves. I'm all for youth inclusion, but as part of a plan. Not five or six just thrown in against a strong Chelsea with little to no previous experience cos everyone else is knackered. It is what it is though. I suspect they'll understandably struggle.
We don't keep the ball anymore though.
Ludicrous if he does..... This is what is sticking in the gut re:MP, he's had ample opportunity, Outside of kelechi, to integrate around seasoned pros... Let's hope he doesn't crush them with a decision like that, we could get a good thumping!!
Yep. I'm not exactly enamoured by the idea of it if it happens, and I'm a huge advocate of youth. It's using them as cannon fodder and it's callous and a bit cruel potentially. I'm sure they'll be alright in time, but some fools will use this as a stick to beat them with if it does get one-sided, which is just harsh.
