I know he's become the forgotten man but I'm genuinely excited to see him play in a pep team. A nasri with a rocket up his arse is a phenomenal player who can play in a multitude of different positions.

Obviously depends on if pep wants him but nasri's talents has gone un noticed for a while whilst being over shadowed by his attitude. Sort his attitude out and we have a world beater IMO

I can see him playing in the Iniesta role. I agree with you, he'll improve tremendously under Pep.

I do see simlarities in playing style with Iniesta but where they differ is in mentality.

Andreas is an incredibly humble man who despite being one of the greatest ever players shows no sign of ego. Nasri on the other hand is a talented player who has achieved little but thinks he's god's gift.

Nasri played where Modric plays for Madrid (deep midfield) once for us and did a really good job. Can't remember who it was against, maybe Everton or Spurs at home.

I can see Guardiola playing him or Silva in the same place.

He will thrive. Pep will keep faith with anyone who has the ability to carry out his instructions and who has the passion to play. One thing Nasri certainly possesses is footballing intelligence and passion.

He is so underrated by our fans it's untrue.

Someone on here summed it up best the other day when he said something like:

"During the best of times, Nasri always seemed to be on the pitch"

It's no coincidence.

id like to see this, i hope nasri is given a chance....i think we've missed him this season. If the rumours of Silva being shipped out are true then its even more exciting as he plays his best without silva in the same side.

The comparison is made with Iniesta above, but I think Nasri would be much more suited to a Xavi-like style and position. He is the best we have at the club when it comes to ball retention, dictating the tempo, is an accurate passer and so on.
I'm very much looking forward to how Pep will use him if at all.

We'll have to see how well he has recovered from a prolonged absence, but his performance away in Barcelona last season showed that he may just not have what it takes at the next level. His ability is there, but his attitude is questionable- France manage without his services- and, much as I love his elan, I think he'll initially blossom under Pep, before reverting to type and be sold.

This is the one player I think can thrive more than any other.

He strikes me as someone who wants to please, if the right person gets in his head, just as Wenger did.

He was picking up a series of niggling injuries for quite a while now, but a mentally switched-on Nasri is half the battle.

If he can get on board and drop about a stone in weight, we might still see the player we thought he could go on to be.

I think he is on his way out. He is not a spring chicken and we need room in the squad. I see him as a player that we could move on without too much fuss! He has had some great games over the years but he has always been suspect in terms of discipline and off the ball positional play. There was a reason Bobby Manc wanted to punch him in the face and it was down to the little things he did or didn’t do of the ball.

I agree with u op. I think he's going to be great. It's also intresting that he said he'd love to finish his career here.
He might already know he's in pep's plans.
If Nasri is a key part of Pep's plans you can bet your life he already knows about it. I think Pep will use him as a deep lying playmaker and It's a role I think he'll excel in.

Plus, Pep's initial contract is for 3 years - I don't think he'll spin his wheels with players he feels will require supervision.

I can see him shipped out quite easily

That's what everyone said about Robben when Pep went to Bayern.

There is 0% chance he will use him as a deep midfielder. You only have to look at the players pep has used there to see it ain't going to be Nasri. Busquets or Mascherano at Barca. Lahm, Alaba, Schweinsteiger, Javi Martinez at Bayern.

Nasri isn't going to be played in that role.

If he plays a single pivot then he could be one of the two attacking midfielders. In Pep confidential he plays Lahm with Götze and Thiago ahead of him quite a lot. Nasri could be one of those two.

Doesn't really fit in Pep's system imo, he'd be a disastrous midfielder as he doesn't work nearly hard enough off the ball and he doesn't have enough pace to be a Pep kind of winger, and unlike the likes of Silva and De Bruyne he's not a key player either. Nasri has great ball retention but that's about the only thing he has that'd suggest he could fit in, he'll need to get his shit together if he wants to play a part.

What I meant was a deeper more central position than City fans are used to seeing him in, with a quality holding midfielder behind him.

Not a chance, bud.

Nasri has three years left on best part of £160k a week.

He's going nowhere. No club would be prepared to pay the fee involved or the terms, at this stage of his career.

More importantly, Nasri isn't stupid. He's not going to agitate for a move with the chance to work under the best there is, and the chance to add more medals.

If I were a betting man, Nasri will see out the remainder of his career with us, simply because he will accept a squad role and we won't ever let him run his deal down.

He'll be here into his 30s.
