the name of the club usually gets a mention in these anthems.....what has any fans anthem got to do with any club,? the answer is nothing they are just songs that catch on for some reason,

not true the fans around me loved it , good luck waiting for the fans to just sing it ,it has not been attempted all seasondont agree, no one ever seemed to sing it when it was played anyway. why dont we as fans just sing it when the game starts.
nothing better than a stadium full of city fans singing this. Spine tingling.
I don't know but I'm sure there are loads of blues more creative than me who can come up with something.
Is there another team that has a song like it? What I mean is, is there another team that sings a known song as theirs? I know Liverpool sing ynwa but Blue Moon is a more universally known track.
There's something about the four lines of Blue Moon that we sing for me personally, that just epitomises City for me... 'Dream in my heart... Love of my own'.
Therefore I'm afraid I don't agree when you say that we need a new one, I think the one we have is just fine.
The etihad was rocking that night. I think the roof would of blown off if caicedo didn't miss that sitter. We claim the roof isn't the right sort for keeping sound in, but that night proved that claim is nonesense. It was spine tingling.
It was sung at least 3 times on Sunday and is regularly sung at home and away matches. It was sung quite a few times at Aston Villa for example.
The club, for reasons best known to itself, appear to have stopped playing it before the match starts which was a good starting point to matches. If Liverpool can always play YNWA & West Ham IFBB before their matches I don't see why we can't play our Blue Moon before ours.
It has been sung for nearly 30 years now as Manchester City's song so I think we can safely say it has been ours for a very long time!! I've been watching City on and off for nearly 60 years and it is the song I remember most. (According to our very own Gary James, the first time he heard it was in 1989/90, strangely enough at Anfield!)
How long do we have to sing a song for it to be recognised as ours then in your opinion?
I think our very own Gary James was hearing things in 89, not everything Gary says is gospel you know!! I'd say it was 97ish.
Always happy to oblige!!hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh my, thank you, i needed a good laugh :)
Haha! I had forgot that timeless classic.Sheffield United greasy chip butty ;)

I suppose some clubs have had anthems from the 60s I'd say those songs belong to the clubs, I've just never liked the song.
