I remember Dwight Yorke spouting some bollocks after Davey was sacked, without any irony (having listened to them for weeks telling us sacking managers wasnt the United way) he mumbled some virtually incoherent bollocks about Giggsy being on the touchline, playing attacking football, with his club blazer proudly on, giving the kids a chance and finished it by saying "the right way, the United way." I nearly fell off my seat laughing at the thick twat.

He is one annoying fuckwit, even by the standards of the legions of former vermin players employed by the impartial media. Does he get dressed in the dark? He makes me look like fashion personified.

Why is the BBC gossip section full of `utd contact Jose`s agent`? i thought they had contacted him a few weeks ago, well at least that`s what all the paper were running anyway.

Something doesn`t add up here.

Some worrying rumours about moves to China in order to fund a war chest for the next manager:
Shrek for £22M raises another £45M from saved wages over the remaining three years of his contract.
Bog Brush won't raise or save them anywhere near as much but it will still amount to around £20M. He's out as no sane manager will rate him as a footballer.
Doesn't Mata is another out of favour and he's been rumoured to be on his way as Jose doesn't want him. Another on high wages.
These are high-profile players which is what the Chinese want, and also players likely to be considered surplus to requirements by an incoming coach.
Three bad seasons mean the new man will have far more say in transfers as Teddy 3-planks is clearly clueless.
On the other hand those nice Glazer people might see a sudden influx in cash as a chance to strengthen their pension funds.

If Utd accept an offer for Rooney, Rooney has to accept to leave and go to China
I'm certain that part of the deal to leave the rags will involve an amount of his remaining contract being paid up, so I would imagine that the overall outcome would be cost neutral

Fuck me they're morphing into the scousers with every passing day.
Crisis ??
What fucking crisis. They want to slip down a couple of divisions and then they'll see what a crisis is.
Soft spoilt bastard fans showing their true colours but it doesn't surprise me, the most horrible set of mouthy twats I've ever had the displeasure of meeting.

I so want this to happen

Memo to "Wazza"™;

Forget China buddy boy, get yourself out to Portugal. The local senior citizens are ready to give you a VERY warm welcome!

Does anybody think there will ever be "the City way" in 50 years time? will we become like them? :-(

I've just finished reading Gary James IV's book "A History of Manchester City in the 21st Century." The third chapter is quite revealing in this context:-

"... while certain limited success had been gained under Mancini and Pellegrini it was Pep Guardiola who truly established the "City Way" of doing things that forms the DNA of the club to this day. He promoted youth team players Neymar,Pogba and Gundogen from their nursery clubs in Barcelona,Turin and Dortmund to the first team in Manchester and won the FIFA World Club Championship in his second season. Additional recruitment of talented young players from their other feeder clubs in the local Western European area, especially Madrid and Munich, meant that City had been World Champions 8 times before Guardiola retired in 2030. His legacy was that City weren't just the most successful club in the World, leaving the major Chinese clubs in their wake, but were a club that played attacking football with young locally developed players: the so called "City Way".

Good stuff, Wilf. ;-)

Its a mythical way of playing and behaving only witnessed by Unicorns and Mermaids but like all myths has been passed on by word of mouth down the years and embellished beyond any recognition.

Its based on a manager ( Busby) who had a bunch containing some exceptional young players ( the babes ) who's careers were cut short tragically (Munich ) Ten years after that the same manager was still in charge when another team of relatively young players with one exceptional talent ( Best ) won the European Cup. In doing so they became the first English European cup winners.

There followed many lean years where they were just another football club with their ups and downs ( literally ) and some controversies. All this has been airbrushed from history.

Following that period a Scotsman who managed them - who after a rocky start - went on to bring them success and managed them for 25+ years during which period he fell lucky with a bunch of youth players that were already at the club when he came, the club were the richest and were able to hoover up talent and bully the game and match officials. This ended abruptly with the exit of that Scotsman.

The Ushited Way myth comes from the period between the 68 European triumph to the success of the Scotsman. That period as I have said has been airbrushed and instead is filled in with tales of unmitigated success during which period the club never sacked a manager and played an exciting blend of attacking football with swashbuckling wingers and teams made up entirely of lads who were produced by their youth system ( the Crass of 92 )

As has been said before in this thread - if you get enough people - especially football journalists and celebrity fans - to repeat this myth eventually it is seen as the truth and so we come to the stage we are today.

Its like Carlo Sartori and Dave Sexton never even existed.....

Completely agree with this other than the bit where you say THIS ENDED ABRUPTLY WITH THE EXIT OF THE SCOTSMAN. I feel it was ending before the scotsman did a runner and the 1-6 scoreline proves it, I believe he was fully aware that the situation in Manchester landscape was about to change. Still pissed me off though when Wilkins used the same line on BT this morning, I felt like saying get use to it as the United way is the present or the last 3 years of crap football or to put it another way since our take over some 8 years ago by the best owner in football.

Wouldn't wory about anything that Wilkins says, another ex Rag who is employed by the media to spout the testament according to Eamon Holmes and a myriad of fuckwits .

Shit footballer and even shittier pundit .

Haha
ORGANISED WALKOUT AGAINST ARSENAL

It's a huge game. Heavily televised. This is the game to do it.

We just need to heavily publicise this. Get everyone we know who's going on this.

Probably should be near the end of the game. As we'll walk out and not come back. Any idea what minute?

I'm going to go with 78th minute as we were founded as Newton Heath in 1878.

Just to clarify the reasons of the walkout:

1. Poor management of footballing matters post Ferguson.

2. More interest in sponsorship than football.

3. Treating fans like customers and not fans.

4. Dithering in first sacking Moyes and now LVG.

5. Awful succession planning post Ferguson.

6. The Glazers putting us in so much debt.

Who's with me?

Edit:

Okay this thread has not turned out too well.

How about we turn up late to the game? Wait until the 20th minute?

Haha, soft ****. He doesn't need 6 points, he can boil it all down to one, 'we're not winning anymore'

'United Way'... what a load of bollocks... like the 'West Ham' way, or any other way you care to mention... it's all bollocks! So what is this mythical 'United Way'? Playing with wingers, 'hard' centre halves... hard-man in midfield... guess fucking what – that was the way EVERY team tried to play in the 70's and 80's... just because they did it better than most doesn't make it their way!!!
And this 'not a sacking club' bollocks... since Matt Busby left they have sacked EVERY single manager bar one certain Scottish piss-can... all of them!

'Save Our Louis' looks doomed.

Utd fans think Maureen going there will leave Pep whimpering in his basement pmsl
