Shittest Keeper we've had in ages. Given and Pantillimon were miles better and even before that under Sven we used to rotate between Hart and a young Kasper Schmeichel.

This guy is just legitimately shit. He wouldn't even start for Wigan.

Why can't the scenile old twat see it !!! Goodbye Manuell he is your downfall. They say that players are bought for him and has no influence ........bollox

I think we've been severely mismanaged on the pitch over the past couple of years. Before the summer just gone, when we finally started splashing the cash on young players with world class potential, we spent more than £100m on lads who were only good enough to pad out the squad (Navas, Demichelis, Fernando, Bony, Caballero, Mangala) with only the occasional gem (Fernandinho, Negredo) rewarding our investment.

But as I've been thinking for a year or two now, and as has now been confirmed in the last month or so by Guardiola's arrival, Pellegrini was fully aware that he was a stopgap manager from the day he walked in the door. He was brought in to reintroduce a sense of harmony, get us playing attacking football again and keep us in the top three/four so that Pep could ease his way in and make the necessary changes to turn us into an elite side. Manuel is good for teams who have potential to challenge on the elite stage, but little more than someone to install while waiting for someone better, which is pretty much what we are and why he'll go to somewhere like Valencia next season if he doesn't get the Chile job now that Sampaoli has left.

Our squad has grown a little stale while he's been here, but with players like Iheanacho, De Bruyne and Sterling already here and with players like Xhaka, Gundogan and maybe even Pogba possibly joining us in the summer our squad will have a fresh, youthful zest injected into it again. So again, I appreciate that we've been mismanaged somewhat up to this point but the future we're destined for is too bright for me to feel pessimistic about today's result or even a potential battering in the cup final - it'll all be a distant memory when our fine Ferrari finally has the right driver.

This is the main point. Why is there a need to play the 2nd keeper. Did Coton get dropped for Margetson every cup game? No he didn't. Joe Hart surely won't continue to accept being denied the opportunity to win a domestic cup outside of the premier league. Not every club plays it this way and if I were Joe i would want assurances it won't continue. If you're a no.2 there's a reason for it. You should have to earn your place, not just be handed games on a plate. Willy has not taken his chance. Pellers will be neglecting his duties if he plays him next Sunday.
 
I remember when we signed Willy I wondered why he'd never got a full cap for Argentina given his age and playing in La Liga regularly. It didn't take too long to realise why.
 
Joe Hart, Richard Wright, Angus Gunn, Mr fucking blobby, start any of them ahead of that clown Willy. Pay his contract up and get rid of him tonight. That had to be the worst overall goalkeeping display I have seen in 40 years of watching the blues, and we really should consider playing my Gran (over 100) ahead of Willy.

I take it you weren't at the 5-2 against Everton in 1993? Not Martyn Margetson's finest hour.

Caballero was, of course, awful today and shouldn't be anywhere near the starting XI next week (although he will).

But pay up his contract and get rid now? That's hardly logical or realistic is it. The scourge of social media is that people have to be more extreme to get their voices heard.

I'm sure someone will advocate killing Caballero before the night is out. Rather than just saying that he shouldn't play on Sunday, and should be sold in summer.
 
Pellers 'promised' Willy he gets the cup games. Just shows how much Peller's shouldn't be deciding things if he sticks to that.

Agree. Its insane but I think you are right. Along with Toure and MDM, Willy is one of the two players we know are going. But MP will play him. sigh
