Because they aren't ex-footballers on the European football show, so cannot criticise English football as they wouldn't be able to beat them in game of 5 a side. You just have to look at the way John Terry responded to Savage criticising his play to see that they'd never get away with having non-ex pros as pundits. Apparently it's more important that they used to be good at football than they actually are good as pundits

Personally, watching Wio tonight was priceless. He looked like he wanted to walk out. He'd just seen a performance that once again demonstrated how far his team have fallen behind us. Get him on every week, I say.

I used to like Richardson when he did Italian football on channel 4
He's probably the best presenter on football at this moment .
And knows what he's talking about .

BT's Champions League coverage by the way is the absolutely laughing stock of the TV industry because people will literally watch anything else other than it, to the point where they were talking it UEFA getting pissed that they're devaluing the English package as a whole.
