Michael Oliver

I think we're all biased - we can't help it. Going away from the thread a little here but a good example for me is the Adebayor 'stamp' on RVP. At the time I argued for Adebayor saying nobody really knew if he meant it or not. Probably accidental.

I saw it recently and now I think 100% he kicked out in anger. (he did deserve it though and probably one of the best city goal scoring celebrations ever later in the game)

So with the two posters on here that makes four people on the planet who didn't think it was a penalty. Unfortunately the other two were the incompetent referee and his linesman.

I think you're overcompensating because of your natural bias.

Frank i may be wrong here but i have you down as someone who regularly posts on threads like this, mostly telling us how we are all wrong and sideing with a ref decision.

Of course thats your right but id be interested to know if you have a reason, ie you are a ref yourself perhaps?

It looked a pen to me. I think we were perhaps a bit fortunate not to have second bookings though.

Liverpool fans not happy with him either.

However they are also not happy that our "Oil Barons" are ruining football. Oh and that our fans all left before the cup was presented (Strange accusation that one) and that we only sung Blue Moon twice and that was it. Oh and we are a team of Mercenaries and are totally to blame for the rise in ticket prices since 2001! They really do have some absolute bitter twats on there.

The ones I met in the pub and after the game on the walk back to the tube and on the tube were all sound and had a good chat with them.

To be honest I thought our fans were great yesterday.

Absolute stone-wall penalty. No two ways about it. These penalty decisions have become a joke this year, we seem to get conned out of them every game now. We NEED more technology to help referees make the right decisions because they are obviously too incompetent to make them themselves.

It was a cast iron pen also lucas should have seen red for that lunge with his foot of the floor on sergio shocking tackle and coutiniho should have had 2 yellows 1 for diving and 1 for removing his shirt ! Ref had a really bad game!

As a ref I think young Michael bottled it. Did not want to have to send the player off in a major final. That would have killed the game & I think had we scored would have gone on to win by 3 or 4.

Ref had an awful game .

Lucas should have been sent off .

Plus we don't get another penalty .

Watching the highlights you can see that Oliver was poor .

A view shared by a fellow ref, Dermot Gallacher.

Wouldn't have had to show a red, there was a covering player so not a clear goal scoring opportunity, Shirley?

I think you might be confusing me with another poster. I've not posted that much on here and I don’t think I’ve posted about another penalty or contentious decision before. I'm not a ref or anything, it’s just my opinion. I don't want to revisit it or debate here but I also thought Aguero foul against Leicester wasn't a penalty. I'm not saying I'm right just that maybe my idea of what constitute a penalty is different from yours? Maybe I'm a bit more old school and this idea of 'there was contact’ which 100% mean a penalty should be given doesn't sit easily with me.

Also the use of the words ‘stonewall penalty’ seems to have creeped into football fans vocabulary. To me the Stones on Sterling against Everton and the Aguero at Southampton were stonewall. Yesterday, the Leicester away, Everton away LC were debateable. Don’t get me wrong I wish they had all been given but I can understand why they weren’t.

He didn`t have an awful game, he is an awful ref week in, week out, just who the f*ck thought it a good idea to give this clown a cup final to referee.
