More flat track bullying

Are you actually moaning because we won 4-0 today!!!

Do I really need to answer such a question? And do you honestly believe anyone who questions our form against the better sides believe we have a divine right to win?? There has been a sharp contrast in our performances against the top and bottom sides and a significant contrast between Wednesday and Saturday. We seem to fail against the teams at the top who press us in contrast to our performances against teams with limited ambition and first instinct is to contain. The contrast is stark and our results against the top 8 which has left us playing catch up this season. Based on this it seems a fair subject to discuss on a forum about Manchester City.

Villa were woeful and we also stank the place out in the first half . Bit overall aside from Aguero (probably an 8 rating - would have been a 9 but missed pen) and Silva (probably a 6 rating), and the defence (all a 6 rating) who actually played well today? No other starter gets more than a five rating from me and Bony was so bad he gets a 2. Still, after the 3rd goal we were finally forming the triangles and doing things so I suppose there is some hope.

True! That Wanchope goal against Newcastle many years ago was one that sticks in the memory banks. That was a tense game!
Do you know that it only dawned on me much later, maybe months later, that that game basically kept us up that season and how close we came to he trap door. At the time it just didn't register how important it was. Madness.

Were it not for ridiculously long injury lay-offs to absolutely key players, we would be top. PL not great for us this year but this thread says it all about what a hiding to nothing we were on today. Moaning is one thing but the absolute determination to see no positives from the last ten days is annoying and raggish in the extreme.

These last 10 games is purely about picking up points and not playing like Brazil from first to last minute.

That may be true but even over the last four days we have seen a complete contrast in performance and application by the same set of players. This thread has hardly touched three pages and most have been critical of the OP so hardly on a hiding to nothing. People can see positives but that does not mean negative aspects can not be discussed or should be censored. I have no doubt Robbieh was delighted last sunday as we all were, but it does not mean he should not post things he is concerned about on the forum.

If he had done it after a defeat he would have been criticised for that.

It was huge at the time. We ended up being safe by 8 points but were only 4 points ahead of Leeds going into that game with 3 games to play. As it turned out we would have stayed up anyway. The draw at Leicester the week earlier was big too as they were close to the bottom. Leeds/Wolves and Leicester went down on 33 points, Everton who we beat 5-1 at the end of the season were on 39 and we finished on 41.

The importance was it was our first season in the new stadium. Relegation would have been a nightmare then.

Of course we flirted with it again under Pearce but thanks to Mpenza we stayed up again. All important ultimately to where we are now.

No problem discussing our form against Top 10 sides but why do it immediately on the back of a four nil win? Just seems a bit negative and churlish to me.
