I think you have to put things is to perspective. its all about the trip, its a jolly with the lads. the games are somewhat meaningless.

This is the strangest kind of thinking and yet seems endemic in all forms of the professional game. It seems to go as follows: We should aim to qualify for Europe in some form or another. Once we are in that competition, be it EL or CL, we should do anything possible to get out of it if it means we won't qualify for it again next season. It's a staggeringly incoherent logic.

That's easier said than done,hope we go out and and play a similar way to that in Kiev,on the nervy side if we did concede early doors it would make for an interesting match,having said that think we will win 3.1..

I am jaded by mp and his need to keep scoring when we should be managing the game,i'm sure you are right about an eventual win
 
All we have to do is not concede 3 and we are through. Even in the form we are in I think we'd struggle to fuck this one up. Add that the players and management still look like they give a shit about the Champions League, which is awfully good of them, and I expect serene progress.
 
Bring off Vinny, Merlin and Kun if we are comfortable.

Lisbon would be warmer and more enjoyable, but we'd fart around and lose 1-0

I agree with you and now seeing the teams that are in the semifinals it's pissed me off even more
 
Hang on. Arsenal are going out, that's nailed on. If we were to go out (or had already gone out) I was told the other day on good authority England would lose the fourth spot in the CL, with no team from the PL in the quarter finals. Think about that, if it's true. We may well need that fourth place. Fairly strong team for this, please. Let's get this done.

Since when has logic ever been a applied to the majority of comments on this forum.
 
I think we will have to play very well to get the drawer. Lots at stake...these Kiev guys want a bit of what our pampered stars have...money. It's their last chance on the big stage this season to show they can do it.

Nothing is ever given tho, even if we had put a very strong team out against Chelsea we might not have won, we had a strong team out against Norwich and we couldn't beat them. I'd prefer to try and win every comp.

Mmmm you make it sound like the teams left are shit. Crystal palace, Watford , west ham and Everton would give us a decent game.
United we would like to think we would batter them , but it would have still been a very tough game.
I'm pissed off that we haven't done better in the league and fa cup, the team might surprise us in the champions league, after all I never thought that Chelsea, Liverpool or United would win it in the years they did.
