I understand the intent, and desire, for global domination but.much like our other 'concerns',this holds little interest from me.

However......Its an exciting venture for CFG,with potentially fantastic ramifications,so,obviously,I wish them every success with it.

I love it as my Raggy and dipper mates get so wound up by it!! Although it's called the CFG don't Manchester city own the clubs? When NYCFC was announced it stated that Manchester city were the majority shareholders with the Yankees a minority shareholder?

I'll only get excited when all this starts having a positive impact on our turnover.

The Chinese investment in the group already has I would imagine?

The investment itself has no direct impact on our turnover. I'm yet to see any evidence that it has led to increased comercial income from China although I'm sure it's just a matter of time

CFG is the parent company of all the clubs (including MCFC and MCWFC). MCFC as a business has no stake in any of the clubs.

From memory that structure came into place after NYCFC was set up.

To be brutally honest, i could no longer give a flying fuck about the CFG group and its next stop on the world wide tour.

Much more important issues here at home that needs sorting.

It's interesting to note that while the thread title talks about buying a team, and I think most people had assumed we would, the article quoted (and all the other ones that came out yesterday) actually talk in terms of setting up a franchise. Now, CSL doesn't work on a franchise model but there have been lots of clubs set up recently (most teams seem to be less than 10 years old even though there are some teams which date back to the 50s) and it seems that if we did this we'd have to start with a club in the third tier, not the CSL. I'm not sure if that's something which would appeal to CFG.
