How will Pep set us up?

The team could be freshened up just by new ideas and a new approach. Drop Toure and play fit competitive players who can get up and support Aguero and Silva

I think the biggest difference we'll see under Guardiola is the athleticism of the team. We are pedestrian now. We weren't always like that.

Do we have a better squad of players than Leicester?
Is guardiola a better manager than ranieri?
I believe that the answer to both is yes.

He wasn't too big a fan of Lewandowski at the start of the season, so your logic of him preferring a strong striker is incorrect.
It's only because of Lewandowski's form that he felt obliged to play him. I think Aguero would suit his preferred type of playing much better.

I think its unrealistic to expect him to come into the club, change the playing style, change a number of players, have to deal with players returning late from the Euros and Copa America, and then play a different system every week.

I expect he'll adopt a basic system, dictated by which players are available to him in pre season, and stick with that for a few months. The permutations will be introduced gradually once he has a settled squad.
Why is it unrealistic? I appreciate people will arrive back late but that will be the case for all big clubs throughout Europe. But I would have thought he would hit the ground running and introduce his ways straight up. The players will be expected to adapt quickly. The results I would venture may not be what we would all like for the first few months and I think it may be the season after next before we have the real Pep City because of the amount of deadwood which he will need to discard.

I don't think dinho likes playing at Centre Back though judging by some of his interviews, he probably doesn't mind filling in for a game to help the team but if he really doesn't like playing there then there's no chance to turn a player into a top CB that way.

Serious question - Will Pep be bringing in a different medical, dietician, fitness and conditioning teams?

He'll bring in Lorenzo Buenaventura, who is his Fitness coach, the guy who designs training sessions to make the players as fit as possible and also takes charge of their rehab.

As for a dietician, it was the first thing he did when he went to Bayern but Who knows?

Look at the Bayern homepage.
He for sure will bring Buonaventura (fitness coach), Torrent (assistant coach) and Planchert (video-analyst) with him. And use what is in the club. But - if there is no dietican already there he will for sure take care of it together with the club.

Oh, yes, and his shadow Manuel Estiarte who does not have a function apart from being his shadow and best friend.

Estiarte does have a function it's just not easy to pin down. He's obviously contributes something because he's not just around the club, he's on the bench during games and interacts with the players.

So Gundogan the "defensive" midfielder.
I know he can pass, has good control and is mobile.
Is he good at tackling and being the last midfielder?
