How will Pep set us up?

Look at the Bayern homepage.
He for sure will bring Buonaventura (fitness coach), Torrent (assistant coach) and Planchert (video-analyst) with him. And use what is in the club. But - if there is no dietican already there he will for sure take care of it together with the club.

Oh, yes, and his shadow Manuel Estiarte who does not have a function apart from being his shadow and best friend.

Lol, only Pep would have an official "best friend" tag along!

He seems quite involved - obviously from that picture you can see he takes part in training and he's on the bench - in the recent Juventus game he was talking to the players before extra time.

I guess he's just the person pep knows will tell him what he doesn't want to hear, and is good for bouncing ideas off.

I don't know if you've googled him, it's widely posted on here because it's in pep confidential, but he's the greatest water polo player of all time, nicknamed "the maradona of water polo".

Pep famously used him in a team talk before a penalty shoot out, telling his Barcelona players that Estiarte was the greatest penalty taker ever, and they should listen to him.

To be honest I am hoping he will set us up to be competitive and nothing like Pellegrini has done for too many games this season.

Cheers! Motivating our players is definitely something Pellers has been pathetic at, so anything to help that along would be great.

........................Hart
..........Kompany.........Otamendi
Dinho.............Gundogan.............Delph
..............Koke............Pogba
.......Silva.............................KDB
......................Aguero

I don't think that midfield would get overran too often!

It's almost impossible to second guess what kind of team Pep will pick. I think we'll see different shapes and personnel every week.

I've seen a few people suggest Silva's days could be numbered because Pep doesn't like playing with a 10. If you look at this article, he seems to play Muller in every game in a variety of different roles. Muller is obviously a different player to Silva, each has different attributes, but the common denominator is that they are both supremely talented footballers and he can find a way to accommodate them in a variety of roles and systems.

Probably like this.....

-----------------GK-------------------

----------CB----------CB-----------
WB------------DLP----------WB---
----------------CM-----------------
IRW------------AM/10-------ILW
-----------------ST----------------

When the DLP has the ball, the centre backs push up alongside him and spread creating a high lined back 3. The WB's narrow their position a little to form a fairly compact midfield 3 with the CM. The AM/10 plays close to the striker and both wingers will probably be inverted meaning they cut in, which creates space for the full backs to overlap. The wingers will probably need the ability to play a crossfield diagonal which is crucial in creating an isolation or a 1 vs 1, once one side of the pitch has been overloaded. They also will probably need to provide a threat from outside of the box, as well as having the normal tight control you'd expect from a Pep player. 3 reasons i think Sterling will struggle to establish himself as a winger.
