MCWFC 2-0 Arsenal W

Good game, red card was correct, everyone played well.
Steph and McManus solid, Stokes and Bronze very good, Jill Scott fantastic. Asllani looks promising and really impressed by Jane Ross.
Foul looked slightly out the box but the penalty was sweet. A lovely cross and great game gives Toni wotm for me.
Hopefully be able to watch us more this season, played some nice and composed stuff today.

Is this the 7000 capacity sold out. Or the just sell enough tickets for one stand sold out. Very frustrating, nothing to do, and we thought we'd lend our support to city's women this afternoon. It says sold out on Web site, and after a couple of calls yesterday and today, apparently still sold out. I'll be very anoid if on city tv them stands behind the goals are empty.
Rant over, off to do some gardening in the rain.

Didn't appear too much space in the East Stand as the game kicked off but the other three sides were empty, as usual. Crowd given as 1900ish I think!

Much better performance today. Daphers looked solid, Jill S was more on her game but still less sharp than she finished last season. The Arse were a dirty bunch of cloggers. I suspect they get away with much of that for most of the season and bully refs into letting the cards go. One sent off after 14 mins for bargin our tearaway up front, Nicky Parris, I think. Pity it was outside the area! Every Arse tackle had a foul tagged onto it and some bookable fouls were not show the card.

First goal was a gem. Duggers chased a ball to the right goal line, robbed the full back and crossed a beauty for Jane Ross to glance a header into the corner.

The second was a pen. Wondered what Mr Clueless was looking for but he must have been checkin' that it was in the area. Soon as he pointed to the spot he's surrounded by scarlet harridans who think these things are negotiable. Duggers buried it this time. Well deserved but before we scored I had a sneaking feeling The Arse were gonna nick it and then we would see the timewasting stepped up!!

Well done, girls.

Jeez, it was cold, though!

Must be the best pair of fullbacks in the league. They can defend and, boy, or girl, do they attack.

Stokes was the one that impressed me.

Really, who gives a fuck about women's football? I, personally, think it's a load of shit

It's really not. My daughter plays in net for city under 14 girls and the standard is excellent. I have watched her teams for several years and the passing and ability really is good and in some ways it is better to watch than lads football as the technical skil is excellent. The growth in girls / women's football particularly in Manchester is excellent to see.

Good bit of analysis Dave ... if only you'd stopped there before going to dirty old man land. ;)

Should have swung the stadium 90°, it's those bloody easterlies !!
It was a North Westerly straight from Iceland.

Good game though, more of you should pop along the football is very good.

They should not say the match is sold out if they really want to promote the ladies game, a bit naughty if that is true.

'Plays in net'......hahaha........you old bastard!

Absolute bargain at £60 for a season card for me and my daughter. Technically super and the game flows so much more and to me is more exciting than the dross the men churn out.

My 10 year old daughter who is also a footballer, has generated a real hunger to become a City player in the future. This is because she sees how good the set up is and how good our women are. They are her heroes and she one day wants to be a City hero.

Women's football is great and is only getting bigger and better. Come and give it a try and you will be pleasantly surprised.

Not a dirty mac to be seen in EL3 I'll have you know!

Your analysis was good except that it was Jane Ross who was hauled down for the red card, great through ball by Lucy Bronze too.

It was. Since she arrived I keep thinking that JR hasn't done much and I mistake her for NP - eyes are going! And now Kosovare's here there's treble the trouble for me.

So nice to go to a city game and no miles and hours of traffic to contend with! Nice to see us comfortably winning with a lot of grit and fight. Ref was shite, their number 3 should have been sent off too.

Big up to the guy who consistenly managed to chant City, once, after everyone else had stopped. Well done m8

Did anyone see them dolls they were selling of Bony and Kompany?? My god they had no resemblance at all, since when is Kompany a black guy

tell you what was cr*p though - being forced to park all the way over in the car pack down near the gasometer - because of the stupid no cars rule round the stadium I assume because they could have let us in the scrub car park on the collar site like they used to - either via the gate opposite McDonalds traffic lights or just in off Ashton New Road behind South Stand

Whilst the yomp was no issue for me or my mates we passed one poor guy on crutches struggling round the stadium - I told him to complain to the club over it

It's only £60 for a season ticket for the women's team?

What's the cost for an EDS season ticket?

Corboz is doing well in CM, but when Izzy's back there should be much more creativity. Can't help but worry that reducing the squad to 18 will be a problem though. That's 2 games now with no subs because the bench is full of kids.

To be honest, if the management are serious about bringing through our own players then its probably the right size, theres only 16 league games a season. More chance of getting game time in a strong team (playing with the first teamers) and developing than what the Mens team done in the FA Cup. Theres actually too many players in our mens team, i.e. 4 first team full backs is unnecessary, the only way youth get a chance is if there is space in the squad.
