please support the minutes applause

12 minutes for 2012 and his comments on aguerooooooooo day

some shouts for 62 (he was 6 foot 2) and 79 as he was a blue for 79 years

some people may well walk out on 60 and 79 people are already laving anyway

so to avoid any complications 12 minutes in give the old boy a hand

Yeah think we all had a teacher at time or another like Cyril I know a few on here went to spurley will remember Rodney marsh.nice one Cyril.

My parrot died last week, a few years back it ate 7 crackers in one sitting. I hope you all stand with me and clap on the 7th minute.

Hang on I am expected to miss the first 15 to join in the concourse protest, walk out on around 60 odd min with 10000 others, give Cyril a minutes applause as well. Sorry but I am coming 260 miles to watch City play. RIP Cyril but sorry its No No and No for all three of todays circus events.

No need for that.

It's no disrespect to Cyril as I was saddened to hear of his passing. It's becoming a weekly even random applauses at random minutes. It's a small portion on here and it turns out half of the stadium doesn't know what's going on. As for the tedious links to what minute they get clapped on is another matter. For the Spurs game when we clapped for Viola Beach (who didn't deserve a clap more than any other passing blue) the club had it right putting a picture on the screens. If they put Cyril on the screen then it would be more fitting and not half arsed clueless claps. I also don't think it should be done every week a blue passes.

RIP Cyril

I appreciate your feelings but not the way you expressed them.

This may make me look like a ****, but I agree with your sentiment. He was a longstanding fan, and all credit to him for that. I've been a fan since the early seventies so I realise it's not been easy at times to stick with the club. But we all do it. Not sure why it warrants a minute's applause, to be honest. It's getting to the point where there seems to be some sort of tribute every week somewhere (not just us, by the way). If it's a former manager, or one of our highly regarded past players, I fully understand that. But for a fan? Really? And I apologise to any of Cyril's family or friends in advance. This is in no way meant as a slight on the man himself; I didn't even know the man, so I'm in no position to pass any kind of judgement on him. It's more a criticism of the growing trend of tributes in football. I realise that by speaking out, I expect to get dog's abuse. Fair enough. As I've said, it's nothing personal against Cyril. Hopefully, he's at peace and cheering us on today.

Nothing wrong with your comments. Totally agree

I'm just posting to add my support to those who have already expressed a discomfort at this new trend of crocodile-teared sanctimony, masked as "respect", that has seeped into football (not just City).
I am sorry that a loyal blue like Cyril, has passed away. It's deeply sad for his loved ones and my sympathies go to them but the truth is that it's fast becoming trite and meaningless to have a minute's applause for every passing Blue - and ultimately, that sort of lip-service is the last thing that any Blue deserves or wants.
@blue44 - sorry for your loss also, mate.

RIP Cyril, but I won't be standing and clapping for you. These really need to stop.

@blue44 has it right, well done and well said mate.

I also completely agree.

Its a terribly sad time for friends and family and condolences to them but it isnt for the rest of us.

Let them have some privacy at such a sad time.

I agree with to many clapping tributes,my opinion would off been if the club knew just post a pic
off Cyril on the screens at 79mins,

My best mate died this week, here's the link to the post I started for him

http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/gary-crooks-rip.320969/

I go to every home game league and cups,it does seem that we are having some tribute almost every other game or so these days, for me,I will be remembering my mate at the xmas/new year tribute/rememberance

Same with me younger brother who passed early February age 36...
Bit of a character , loads of history, started going to the match as Helens bell carrier for years then a unbroken home and away chain of 12 years recently , loved by loads of home and away blues hated by others as he was a nucence when drunk and in my eyes no one more fitting for a clap at the game, and I was asked by a few why I'd not organised something ,, thing is out of the 50 odd thousand at the game maybe a thousand or so may have known him or of him so I didn't think it be right to even ask. I'll be remembering him at the new year tribute applause.
