guess next season's squad

Don't know who is staying, but incoming:
GK: Steegen
LB: Rose
RB: Denayer
CB: Laporte
CM: Gundogan
CM:Pogba
ST/Winger: ???

I think that's the 6 plus a 7 the I don't know yet. Hoping it's Dembele, but the link is too tenous.

This is what I think we'll do. I'd have gone a different slighly different route at LB.

I'd have gone with Gundogan, Isco, Pogba, Larpote, Dembele, and a possession LB.

Hart, Zaba, Kompany, Mangala, Otamendi, Fernando, Fernandinho, Delph, Nasri, Silva, de Bruyne, Sterling, Nacho, Aguero and others.

Hart
Zaba Kompany Mangala Clichy/Kola/new LB
Gundogan Fernandinho
De Bruyne Silva Sterling
Aguero

Ter Stegen
Denayer Otamendi Laporte Angeliño
Yaya Fernando
Nasri M Garcia Barker
Kelechi

Think he'll fill out the squad with youngsters

I don't know who we are going to sign but its about time we started signing top quality players to vastly improve the team, No more squad fillers. Top level signings or carry on with what we have. we havn't improved the squad bar Fernandindo and De Bruyne since winning the league under mancini. Now with our new manager coming in, its time to revamp this squad with quality, too much shithouses in this team. regardless of how the season ends this squad is not good enough to compete with the best

Hart
Bellerin Laporte/Stones Kompany Alaba
Pogba Xhaka
Sterling Silva De Bruyne
Aguero

Although my doubts are:

Bellerin - doesnt appear to want to leave Arsenal even for Barcelona, so what chance do we have?

Laporte - attainable, however I expected Mangala and Otamendi to be great players, so im not going to assume any centre half we sign will be great unless I see first hand.

Stones - would like him, but he does appear overrated and not worth close to the 50m Everton will demand. (sick of overpaying)

Alaba - really doubt he will leave Bayern

Pogba - I feel he would come, however competition for him is going to be fierce.

Xhaka - easily attainable given be plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach, but like Pogba, will be wanted by many

GK- Hart - Stegen - Gunn
LB- Rose - Clichy
RB- Fabinho - Denayer
CB- LaPorte - Stones - Otamendi - Kompany
CM- Fernandinho - Gundogan - Kante - Delph - A. Garcia
ATT- KDB - Silva - Sterling - Nasri - Dembele
ST- Aguero - Iheanacho - Ambrose

New signings in bold. I think City will try for a more established striker.

I think we'll make some really strong teenage signings too such as: Reichedly Bazoar, Ante Coric and Amadou Diawara.

The allure of playing for Pep is tremendous. I think we will kill it with teenage and youth signings in the very near future.

Personally think the recent talk of up to 8 signings are bull shit. I'm really struggling to name realistic signings for full back and central midfield though.

On the basis that we don't want too many changes I am going to suggest 4 players that need to go because they are not technically up to Pep's requirements.

Bony...can't hold onto the ball for any length of time.
Fernando.....poor in possession.
Mangala...ditto
Kolarov....so one footed it's depressing. Yesterday he got himself into great positions only to have to stop and pull it back onto his left foot.

Yaya is fantastic technically but it seems his race is run at City.

The players replacing them.

Lewandowski
Gundongan
Stones
Not sure about the LB

and Pogba

RB: Fabihno, and the kid at Roma seem legitimate.
LB: Gaya, and Rose too.

But if you ask me I think both positions are sorted.

Delph at LB
Denayer at RB

We are gonna buy 4 outfield players (or should)

Gundogan, Laporte, Pogba and Isco.
Add a goalie to that.

Leaving
Yaya
Kolarov
Bony
Mangala
Fernando
Caballero (if we get Steegen)

I don't think that there'll be major surgery in his first season in charge.
I think he'll get a world class striker to help aguero, a beast of a defensive midfielder, a top class cb and a left back. Four in, at least six out and promoting the best young players.

There are no WC strikers coming to play backup to Aguero. It simply doesn't work that way. All WC strikers start. That's just how it is. And if you are not starting you move.

N
To play alongside him.
Not a striker, we won't play 2 strikers, we may get a wide goal scoring striker than can play in 3 and fill in for Aguero if Iheanacho is unavailable. I do wonder if Debrune could play in a similar position to Muller at Bayern.
