Well done boss

I hope his real reason for leaving Yaya out of he knows we're a better more balanced CL side without him, and his injury comments were just an easy excuse.

I'm very far from being his no 1 fan but he got things right on Tuesday. I was a little surprised about Yaya on the bench but Navas work rate was very good and definitely helped the defensive effort. Other than that I think most of us would have picked the same team. What was clear from the performance was the effort and concentration from all was spot on. Doesn't matter now who we get in the semis, if we continue to play like that we will give anyone a decent and hard game.

Barca in a 4222 eh ? Turn the clock back to before Cruyff interfered.

Tbf to Pellegrini, I think he has played a part in the Champions League run, basically by not being typical Pellegrini all the time. He failed to spot the danger v Juve & cost us, but after having his arse handed to him by Seville at home & a stuffy win, we have approached most CL games in a much more sensible manner & got results. Seville away being his best game as manager imo.

Even the 442 v PSG has been an attempt at being a solid & 'English' style 442 rather than his flakey crappy Premier League version & worked well in the 2nd leg. If he can resist the temptation to pick his proven, losing, Yaya +1 combo in the next round, we have a fighter's chance & it would be unfair not to credit him with his part at least in the 2nd half of the CL campaign. Just as it would be unfair not to credit him with getting us 15 points behind Leicester with his choices there. He has tried to be more solid in europe & it's worked. Same in the League Cup final.

Let's hope he sticks to it.

It's no surprise he's being linked with other top teams. He's at one now. He got Madrid their highest ever points total. His record is superb. He is often involved or his teams are a deciding factor in titles & winning trophies everywhere he's managed. Some expect him to win doubles & trebles every season but that's ludicrous...especially when the squad was cut last year. He is the best manager in the Premier league in the last 3 seasons & every year City improved in Europe. He's steadily taking City into the promised land where we now stand as one of the fourth best teams in the whole of Europe. It's not over yet...we are lucky to have him ;-)

Tactically superb again. He's outfoxed some excellent managers in the CL this season. Love him.

I got a PM off a mate of mine on here yesterday and he said that he still despises MP. I find it amazing that he can generate such levels of hate. It's almost impossible to understand.

I kinda hope we get Atleti in the semis. That battle between MP and Simeone would be amazing.

He was the best when we won the title, mourinho pummelled him last year and he's been woeful this season. That's abt a fair summary don't you think?

CL he has improved us.

Especially in the CL this season, Pellers seems different. There's a dogged determination about him. He's excellent tactically, and as you say, I'm staggered as to the lack of praise. There's only 25 pages of support, if we'd have lost, there'd be a thread of 200 pages as to why he's shit and should be sacked.

Surely you can understand why though? The league is most supporters bread and butter. It's the competition we spend the most time in and where our fiercest rivalries are. For two years he's been disappointing so it's not surprising that there's an element of dissatisfaction.
The personal abuse is out of order of course, some of it is way over the top. Thats what happens when you're managing a club with our expectations though and fall short. I imagine every other manager who's taken charge of a top team has gone through the same. Luckily they're well compensated for what a handful of irate fans have to say on the Internet.

Nobody expects doubles & trebles each year, we expect competence. His Premier League management has been incompetent & he doesn't even trust that method himself in the Champions League, which says it all. We have been badly let down by a shit manager who has at least dropped the fairlyland bullshit & tried to do a professional job in the Champions League.

That is the absolute least we should expect. Fair play to him for his success there but it absolutely does not make up for the last two seasons.

I wonder how title winning Laurent Blanc is being received in Paris right now.

Cant really argue with that.
