Eccles of course! Just Eccles!!
Sorry if someone has already posted but I just read this on the BBC website:

"The Premier League has removed referee Kevin Friend from Tottenham Hotspur's game at Stoke City on Monday, because he supports top-of-the-table Leicester.

Spurs are City's closest rivals, seven points behind with five games left.

The Professional Game Match Officials Ltd (PGMOL) do not pick Friend, who lives in Leicester and has attended games in a personal capacity, to referee matches involving the Foxes.

The PGMOL said "the timing and context" of the game saw them replace Friend.

"It was felt unnecessary to add extra scrutiny on the refereeing appointment," a PGMOL statement said.

Neil Swarbrick, from Preston, will take charge at Stoke, with Friend instead officiating Newcastle's game against Manchester City on Tuesday."

How many times have we had Friend?

I'm not suggesting that we could or will win the League, but it is still Mathematically possible; so following the Principal they have applied for him not to Officiate the Spuds game then he should not be allowed to Officiate ours, Arsenals or anyone else who still has a chance of winning the league.
Wonder if we were in Spurs Position it would have been changed.

The latest batch of premier league referees are the worst I have ever known with one or two being VERY suspect given some of the bizarre decisions given against us.

Don't think Friend is the worst by any means. Encountered him on a train back from Manchester last season (he got on at Stoke where he'd been 4th official) and a few Blues were giving him stick. He got chatting and pointed out that City had won every game he'd reffed us (which I think was true at the time, but not since). Seemed quite human and engaging for a ref.

Bet he daren't fall asleep -:)

We've scored 21 goals in the last 5 games he has reffed - including beating Newcastle 6-1.

He's got a poor memory then, he reffed 2 of Sunderlands 1-0's

Meanwhile Anthony Taylor, the lifelong Wythenshawe rag from a rag family who conveniently insists he's an Altrincham fan, is allowed to referee United, City and Liverpool games without hindrance.

And Lee Mason.

Halsey outed Oliver as a barcodes fan on Talkshite this morning so surely same rules should apply?

Well, Oliver is from Northumberland, so it's hardly a surprise if he is. Also, Oliver hasn't reffed Newcastle in the league this season, which does suggest that he's not allowed to.

I'm not sure what Oliver has to do with it though - Friend is the ref for Newcastle next week.

Could of been worse, Friend is an incompetent dick like the majority of them. I was expecting Jimmy Nail as ref with Ant and Dec as Linos
