Nasri back in full training

Nasri is a better option than Silva as a wide player and De Bruyne is a better option than Silva as a number 10. Just my opinion.
 
So Nasri is the latest shit player we have according to a small few on here is he?

Absolute codswallop.

He's just 100% more effective in the middle. Even if you prefer Nasri to Sterling, Raheem has the pace to break with speed and prevent opposition full backs from getting forward. Whereas Nasri is the kind of player who can dictate the tempo of games when started centrally.

He was a far better player when he played in the middle at Arsenal. Samir's been fantastic in spells for us but I just wish he'd get a run of games away from wide positions.
 
We have an abundance of riches in terms of creative midfielders. Nasri and Silva are definitely stronger as No 10's and arguably KDB & Yaya too. The only one I would say could equally do as well out wide is KDB and this is our problem. We have options of these types of players whilst we only have Navas and Sterling as specialist wide men.

I know we wanted Hazard and Sanchez in the past but if we'd acquired them, would we have gone balls deep in for Sterling and Navas? This is an area we could definitely do with strengthening. Trying to play them all at once has proved difficult with the formation and tactics we've used, it'll be interesting to see how Pep approaches this conundrum.

Always looking to receive the ball, nearly always finds a blue shirt, immediately finds space offering an option when he has done and Kun and Kevin love playing with him because he is on the same wavelength as them.

You're placing too much importance on starting positions, rigid formations on paper etc. He didn't look to be getting chalk on his boots to me when he was expertly sliding Aguero in for his 2nd, or when Nasri was arriving into the box for his one-on-one. Or when he was probing with Yaya outside the box. He has to retreat to the left when we lose the ball, but the second we win it he has the freedom to go wherever the space is, leaving the left wing to Kolarov. Nasri on the left turns our 2 man midfield into a 3 man midfield, which is very useful.

I agree that it works well against some teams but a lot of the time, particularly in Europe, we need to true wide players with pace who can hold their positions on the wing. This way it's easier to prevent us getting outnumbered on a counterattack or leaving one half of the pitch completely exposed.

Against weaker opposition, including the deflated Chelsea we played on Saturday, I think Nasri coming in off the wing and joining Yaya, Fernandinho etc works brilliantly. However, against a quick breaking team or a team with real purpose to their passing, we do have a habit of leaving ourselves way too open for counterattacks.

Its been like having a new 25mil player belated Christmas present we've just unwrapped. He can do so much in a game. Dictate the tempo. Keep possession and complete almost 100% of his passes, and he loves City too.....

Only a small minority of us on here who know what we're talking about, mate. Nasri is going to be superb next season. Makes me laugh when I see people slag him off, probably the same who chant "ATTACK, ATTACK, ATTACK" at totally inappropriate parts of the game.

What's with this rewriting of history? He's always been a quality player, the problem has always been his inconsistency. Funnily enough that's what people get pissed off about, knowing he's got the ability in spades but failing to take it into games.

The 'small minority' who know what they're talking about. Haha! Fuckinell.
 
He has been fantastic and showing sterling how the job is done.. keeps the ball well, passes well, gets in position.

Hope he stays, he is guardiolas sort of player..
