No, this is my point. I think the football we often see. Our squad heavy with technically gifted but physically limited players is down to a combination of the two.
There's a lot of 'ifs' 'I believe' 'I think' and 'For me's' in their fella.
So I suppose Messi, Xavi, Iniesta et al are all physical powerhouses then?
An idea from the top being implemented by someone who fancies another way. Meeting somewhere in the middle. For me, Pellegrini has instructions from the top and he's trying to balance his own ideas with those of his employers and we're getting something in the middle.
So again you're saying that Txiki telling the media City want to play entertaining attacking football is him also telling Manuel how to coach the team, pick the team, decide on tactics? Is this ITK facts or just your opinion?
I believe there is a instruction from above to play football the right way, always look to score and dominate possession. I believe Pellegrini is under pressure to deliver this.
I don't believe we have the squad good enough to do this. I think Pellegrini is doing his upmost to forefil the club's philosophy(excuse the word) but it's not always the best way to win.
If memory serves me right we used to be able to do this with a much weaker squad, are you saying this has now been eroded over the last 3 years? Sorry but its
utmost and
fulfill.
If indeed you are right, if Pellegrini does want yo play 442, why the fuck have we only got two senior strikers? That is a total contradiction.
Dunno ask Manuel, he's the manager and he didn't seem to have a problem with it.
If Pellegrini wants to play 442 he hasn't got the squad. Why not? So that to me is clear evidence of Txiki influencing the squad. Influencing the manager. If Txiki wants to load the midfield, keep possession he's not signing the right players. Sterling & De Bruyne can be criminally liberal with the ball. FERNANDO and Delph limited on the ball.
Like I said, there's a lot of 'if's' in there fella. But ultimately, you play the hand you're dealt and that is what ANY manager in ANY business does. How you see this as
'clear evidence' that Txiki is influencing the squad and the manager is beyond me. When Manuel's squad was being 'influenced' at Real, he made his feelings quite plain and was very vocal about this, has he mellowed since he came here? Is Txiki to blame for some of the strange team selections, substitutions, formations and tactics we've seen from Manuel or have you now shifted your position to now say the strange team selections, substitutions, formations and tactics have been made by Manuel because he's being forced to fulfill his DoF's philosophical criterion against his wishes?
So, if Pellegrini wants to play 442, why have we only got two senior strikers?
Deja vu........
If he wants to play 2 in midfield, why have we got just one player suited to it? If Txiki wants us to play a 433 high press possession based game, why have we just spent £54 million on a traditional number 10 who's liberal in possession and average at best when it comes to pressing
Easy, look at what the previous manager did with a less talented squad and let's see what the next manager does with this squad and then we can draw a more than fair comparison as to what can be done with the players available us.
For me the answer is obvious, between the two, Txiki and Pellegrini are trying to find a common ground. It's not ideal for either.
Deja vu again, but suffice to say YET AGAIN you play the hand you're dealt and considering the shit squads we've had in our recent history I and many others believe we have more than enough talent available to us as opposed to you believing our squad is not fit for purpose and that it's all Txiki's fault. Manuel has been here long enough to mold the squad to his own liking and to adapt to whatever limitations you may perceive and most Premier League managers would just LOVE to have Manuel's squad problems.
