Well done boss

when I recall the big games we used to play 2-3 years ago, they were wars, it was like Arsenal and Rags rivalry from 10-15 years ago, each of them. Now, there's barely fight in this team, the old fucker sucked all of it from this team.

Mad at the gaffer for this season ..but a bit sad for him as well .. At one time around two years back we were playing splendid attacking football and won the league doing that .. But then we kept declining ..a few poor transfers added to that .. Pelli is going out like arsene , fans mad at him ..his last season spoiling the good work of his earlier seasons ..but then this change is needed ..I just hope fans at the stadium sign him off in style .with banners n chants thanking him .after all we won two championships under him playing attacking football and he got us to semis of European football .. Ya we r now a level above him, but he played his part in getting us to this level ..and with a very brave face accepted us ditching him for pep .. Not many managers would have behaved like a gentleman after getting the sack mid season .. Thanks for the memories gaffer but time to move on ..

A great manager knows what to do when things go wrong. Pellegrini hasn't a clue. We've won more games out of individual brilliance rather than astute, well thought out tactics.

Absolutely, taken us back at alarming rate, if he has said that then he needs sectioning

I'm afraid he did. Pep can't start a minute too soon for me.

The main issue for me is that Pellegrini's holistic approach is basically translated into having no game plan, no plan B or even a plan A for that matter, and his 'Ah well' attitude to players like Kolarov is an utter joke. Kolarov in the game against Southampton should have been fined his appearance bonus - but he won't have been. I bet Pellegrini actually put his arm around him and said "never mind"

How he can possibly say we didn't deserve to lose is beyond me. It's these kind of arrogant and detached statements that piss me off about him almost as much as his inept team selections. He's completely detached from reality.

That doesn't bother me its spin and every manager is guilty of it.

What is most concerning is the pathetic way we went about ensuring Real Madrid had nothing to do for the whole of the game that meant they had to think twice about their game plan.

His mantra of being an attacking side that takes risks wore thin we me about 12 months into his tenure when I came to the conclusion he had no idea how to set this side up to maximise its strengths while minimising its weaknesses as any good manager does.

Despite taking on the best spine in the business who fell out of love with their manager three years ago and limping to a title with its defensive frailties we slowly but surely saw our sides weaknesses grow in magnitude and despite FFP and some poor recruitment his training methods probably never challenged in his three years at the club and his set up personnel wise is not suited to the premiership and never will be.

We have gone a long way back in time the past two years but I remain hopeful with some necessary adjustments on and off the field we will play smarter , quicker more entertaining football that we have served up now for almost two seasons if not longer.

Most of our important victories in the past two years have been in spite of this ethos when the players decide the game is important enough for them to win and we get the necessary inspiration from the few skilful players we have and flat track bully the opposition.

This tag is never more apt under MP and even if we got some better players in the summer to replace our deadwood we would regress further next year in the premiership under him especially if we got past the group stage of Europa.

Not been this fed up and down about football since the days of Mr Potato Head or even Stuart Pearce. It's an absolute shambles what has been allowed to happen at our beloved club, it really is.

It's a shame his reign has deteriorated at this rate.
We're unrecognisable from the team a few years ago. He isn't entirely to blame, recruitment has been shoddy to say the least, but Pellegrinis tactics and blind faith in some of these frauds can't be excused.

Lovely guy, who should be walking out of the Etihad on Sunday with a sense of a job well done and a chorus of support from the fans. If we lose v Arsenal he could be leaving through the back door with his jacket over his head. All very sad...........and avoidable in my opinion.

I've reflected more on the performance last night and shite that it was, you know it was not unusually shite. In fact quite the opposite, it was just how we normally play.

For 2 years now, we've been playing this slow build up play where we dick around in front of the opposition's well-martialled defence, hoping for some miracle through ball. Or failing that we lump it out to Navas who might win the odd corner (that we never score from anyway). Our game has become far too slow, far too predictable and frankly pretty dull to watch. God knows what the neutrals would have made of the last couple of performances, but sure as hell it wouldn't inspire anyone.

Last night was just the same old shite, served up against a much better side. It's the same reason why we've barely beaten any team in the top half this season: If you are a half decent side, you can successfully defend against us, and our defence so poor, you eventually get your chances.

Of course it's not been like that for every single game, but it has been like that for the most part. The way we play, has to change.

This may be a huge over-simplification but perhaps it's because we've changed from 4-4-2. Pellegrini's sides have always played 4-4-2 and it took him a year and half to work out that this doesn't not work in the PL against teams with 5 in the middle. So we now play 4-5-1 with a not very tall striker and we lump high balls at him, hoping for a miracle. Pellegrini doesn't seem to know how to get us to play in a 4-5-1 because it's so alien to him. But we can rarely get away with 4-4-2, and never can if he plays Yaya, which he has done pretty much any time Yaya is fit. So we are stuck in limbo with two alternate systems, neither of which works. Sergio isn't a classic number 9 we can lump balls at. He needs fast passing and movement so he can make runs and get in behind. He needs ball to feet and needs it quickly. But no-one passes to him quickly, so he's stopped making runs and comes deep in frustration. That's a waste of his talents, clearly.

I think Pep will sort this shit out quite quickly to be honest. He'll have us playing great football again in a matter of days, not even weeks.
