Should we get rid of "Blue Moon"?

Bluemoon is a good anthem - it is defiant in it's message and for those of us who were there when it started "standing alone without a dream in my heart" was exactly how we felt in those dark days.
What I will say, is that it fizzles out too quickly because there is really only one verse. If we could come up with another verse then it would be much better.

We don't need to come up with any more verses - they already exist, it's just no one seems to know the words. A longer version where all the verses are sung loudly and clearly would be quite epic in my opinion.
The Hey Jude was fantastic on Sunday before kick off simply because it went on for ages and people sang it clearly - admittedly na na na na na aren't the most challenging of lyrics.

Ha yes - I'm well aware of the Rodgers and Hart verses - I just mean one that applies specifically to City.
I love Hey Jude - but a bit embarrassingly scouse given the city rivalry.

Never liked it and just had to listen to a weird version on ticket office for half hour trying to renew my season cards. I have to ring as doing my dads as well.

It's just not uplifting.

Fucking hell shhhhh the club will be having a cheesy compy if they see this....

The one verse is enough, half our fans either get board with more than 4/5 lines or continually get faster until they can't get the words out.

in a at stadium half empty when players arrive on the pitch, then a big percentage on their phones while at their seats, the best anthem in the world would sound shite..... Hey Jude against madrid at home was fantastic, because fans sang it and embraced the moment..

I know I know - but from a scouse band.
Probably taking it too far.

that makes no sense, clubs chosen anthems are rarely specifically written by someone from that city/town, being scouse has no relevance really. Hey jude is a city song and we dont use it enough.

Anyway my main point the video of the hibs fans sing sunshine on lieth at the cup final, highlights how we underuse the beauty of the full version of blue moon by singing 2 lines from it only and make it in to a chant rather than a club anthem(as shown by that tacky version the club insist on playing), we devalue it a bit I guess in my opinion, it's a song I loved before we adopted it, but so wasted by us by not singing it fully and in it's proper tune

I totally agree on the last bit!

Absolutely not.

The club has gone through a massive transformation in the last few years, the only thing that hasn't changed is the fans and our tradition.

Bluemoon stays in my opinion.
