Promotion day 5-1 v Charlton, hot day kippax absolutely rammed and later on I was in the City Gates having a drink with George Heslop.

May still be my best memory - possibly of any kind, never mind just City!

Aged 8 walking to the game down Lloyd at in the sunshine with my (now passed) grandad and dad. Sat on the platt lane benches. Simmo rounding the keeper and slotting home in front of us....

It's days like that one that kept me going even in the bleak years.

Magnificent day for this 14 year old at the time but also a tragic one for those killed at Valley Parade.

RIP the 56.

I have been reliably informed by my neighbor that I live in George Heslop's old house

I always remember the scenes in Cox's Bar that night. One guy doing somersaults over a full pint pot, the landlord telling people to calm down and being chaired around the pub (Salford Blues if I remember correctly) and finding out that we'd actually won 5-1 and not 5-0 because I'd missed the Charlton goal in the throng that was the Kippax that day.

was a great day red hot, and a great performance on the pitch, 55.000 ha ha swales had a big pocket of cash after that game, what the tax man cant see the tax man doesnt need to know.

My first game and earliest memory. Being on my dads shoulders on the pitch at 5 years old. Think it might kill him if he tried that now.

Strange day for me. I was working in Yorkshire at the time, and that weekend I was on a work outward bound course in the county with people from West Yorkshire.

News of the Bradford fire meant that celebration was not an option.
