Hitler never supported Schalke instead the famous player Kuzorra was banned from the Nationalteam after saying the Führer can kiss his ....

Just another lie spread by our yellow neighbours who didnt "exsist" in that time.

Schalke lost the final vers Vienna after 3:0 lead 3:4 after some curios decision of the referees past halftime.
Some say Adolf wanted an Team from his homeland become champions.
 
Was over in Dusselfdorf on a Stag do this weekend so on Sunday we went along to Fotuna Dussledorf v FSV Frankfurt at The ESpirit Arena.

Both team fighting relegation on the same points, 1 point above the bottom 2 going into the game (bottom 2 go down & 3rd from bottom goes to a play off). Fair to say the quality wasn't the best but it was a full on game, some tasty challenges in the first half. Fortuna won 1-0 thanks to a Kerem Demirbay goal just after half time, to be fair Fortuna should have wrapped it up even more at the end, missed some great chances or was just lacking that final ball. Frankfurt were very poor in there effort to get something out of the game. Fortuna are all but safe now I think

The Espirit Arena is a great place to watch a game. Holds 55,000 & has a roof so can be used for other events (Paul McCartney is on there soon & I believe Klitchko's have fought there quite a few times). Out tickets were 20 euro's each, 12 of us sat in the upper tier behind the goal near the corner flag but still a great view. 32,000 there so still a great atmosphere from the "Ultra's section", no more than a couple of 100 Frankfurt fans.

I've been to a few games in Germany now both for City in Europe & other games (St Pauli a few years back & Cologne last year), they have it spot on over there. Great stadiums, good prices, great transport to & from the games, Standing areas, I could have a beer at my seat watching the game (which we all did just because we could!), decent priced food etc...

Really enjoyed it, can not wait for my next trip to Germany

Sounds like you've caught the bug. Its great but be warned its gets addictive (and expensive).

A fair old chunk of money spent by Bayern today. About €75 million on Hummels and Sanches I believe. Will the rest of the league combined spend that this summer? (Obviously as a City fan I'm not complaining about clubs spending money!)

It's a once a year job probably for me. Been on a few stag do's in Germany so it's always worked well with a game wherever we've been. No stags planned for next year yet but a few of us are just going to do a trip somewhere anyway, hopefully fit another game in!

Bayern does not have many areas where they need strengthening. I expect that they sign another offensive player - striker or winger. But that probably will be a talent, too. And that Götze and Benatia will leave.

Hitler didn´t support any football team as he was no football fan. Apart from a match at the 36 Olympics, that germany lost, there is not much known about him visiting football matches.
Schalke played a role in the nazi propaganda though. The Ruhr area was a stronghold of communists and social democrats before 33. They used Schalke as a propaganda topic to celebrate the german workers. Some problem was the polish origin of some players and the fact that the polish press celebrated Schalke as their team in the 30s.
But many Nazi officials had a favor for Schalke, not only because they were the best team of the time, they had also been underdogs and outcasts in the german football system of the time and many of them saw Schalke´s rise similar to the rise of the Nazis.

The result in DAS BOOT is a fake, there wasn´t such a defeat in the year the story played.
 
What a boring one team league and all the Bundesliga teams bend over letting Bayern take their best players without a fight.

My Everton-supporting mate informs me that a summer tournament has already been organised, involving Everton ,Dynamo Dresden,Werder Bremen, and Real Betis.
Do you know if this will definitely be staged in Dresden?

I can think of many things I'd prefer to seeing Hamburg avoid relegation :)
