£40 million should do it
That's more than twice what he's worth.£40 million should do it

As much as you need muscles, you need brain more to become a football player. Mangala is a physical beast but he relied on his athleticism too much instead of his thinking. He can pocket any attackers 1 on 1 but football is not a 1 on 1 game. This is not ping pong. Like Dax pointed and I have too on many occasions, Mangala plays hot potato with the ball. Everytime he passes the ball away you can feel his relief emanating from his body. He would cripple our team in Pep's system. You don't need athleticism to be a good defender. Cannavaro - the only recent Ballon d' Or winner who's a defender - was standing at a towering 1.72m.
Systems matters. Unless you're Messi or Ronaldo, what system you play in makes a lot of difference. Case in point - Higuain. You think the water in Naples has something to do with him turning into a record goalscorer? No, it's his system. It fits him better than the one in Madrid.
Mangala in other system? Could be world class.
Mangala in Pep's system? Nightmare.
Stones in Martinez's system? Many mistakes.
Stones in Pep's system? Match made in heaven.
Pep is a jockey and he knows exactly what kind of horse he needs. Let's not question our jockey now.
Danamy you think we will get him ?£40 million should do it

This has been agreed for a while with stones hasn't it? Only reason he was watching the champions league match??!! Also pellers to Everton might allow us to chuck a player into the deal to soften the fee?
thank godMCFC Info @MCFClnfo 1h1 hour ago
Everton will demand at least £45m for centre-back Stones meaning that Laporte is considered a more attractive option. [Mirror]

Well good. John will be 22 in 2 days. Will hust wait till June then. Then we'd have complied with your requirements :pAny centre backs under the age of 21 who represent this club next season should be from the EDS.
If we sign a new centre back I feel it's got to be somebody of experience, a leader, a finished article, Chiellini, Thiago Silva, Pepe for example. Maybe even Shawcross as a cheaper alternative.
Simply cannot agree with paying around £50 million for a 21 year old, especially when we have three very promising centre halves in Denayer, Tosin and Humphreys.
That was Chelsea and last seasonThey rejected a 40mil offer from Chelsea last season....think its going to take 45mil to get him...
LolYeah, £40m cash or £50m plus Bony. I'll drive him there.
Hey now:(Him and navas for stones maybe?
If you can deal with the annoying black bars at the top and bottom (and Michael Owen), this was a great performance by him. Just one mistake with the free kick and kicking the ball away, but otherwise great.
He's obviously a talented defender, but more importantly, he's a Pep style of defender, and we need to buy the players that let Pep play how he wants to, be it him or Laporte.
As for him only being this expensive because he's English, how much was Mangala? How much is Laporte going to be? Stones is going to be a maximum of £10m more than either of them (if we believe the Mangala price). But having a homegrown player in one of the first team spots saves you a lot of money in the future buying average English players just to have a big enough squad to compete.
