Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

What we cant forget is that Pep likes goals from midfield....its not all about the strikers.....Aubameyang would give us what Neymar gives Barcelona......Aubameyang is very comfortable playing from a wibe position and would be an excellent fit for Pep's system if we were in for him.......I agree, doesnt seem many rumours that he is a target for us but when you look at his playing style and what Neymar offers Barcelona, he could make the same impact.......(not saying he is as good as Neymar because he isnt but just trying to explain why I think he would be a good fit!)

There is the anti-auba camp and there is the get it done camp... This is the right summary for the get it done camp...frankly I think the get it done people are more informed on this guy but I'm biased...fair to mention that if it it happens...it's a Pep signing as well.

Do we really think we'll push a tall, strong striker out wide to accommodate Kun ? Think we may see Kun shifted wide in a front three with Sterling/Sane. Great to have that flexibility and would love to see this guy at the club.

Pep has form for doing that with a striker, it worked to great effect at Barca with David Villa, so dependint on who we being in it wouldn't be a surprise to see Aguero wide left in an attacking three. If we can replicate the success of Barcelona's front three a slight change in roles shouldn't limit Aguero's scoring record either.

39 goals, can play right wing instead of navas when sergios is fit, player of the year, would have him in a heartbeat and is the the player we are linked with which I want to happen the most

bony is 5 foot 10 lukaku is 6 foot 3 bony is slow lukaku is fast both have poor first touches bot then so does aubameyang who is also scared of the physical game its not about who we get in its about getting the best out of aguero .
Lukaku wouldn't bring the best out of Aguero. Would rather having a a technically proficient footballer who can score. Really DeBryune is that guy, we just need a winger forward to take up the wings. Asensio or Soufaine Boufal are 2 quite productive young players

Not that keen on Aubameyang, to be honest. I'd go all out for Sanchez, if the rumours about him are true.

Well thankfully the people we pay the millions a year will know if they are or not!

I haven't seen Aubameyang play a full 90mins and YouTube makes anyone look good. Has some raw footballing attributes and physically pretty immense. Pep wouldn't be asking if he didn't rate him!

Indeed, trust in the boss. He knows.

Its amazing how people who don't watch or study German football write off Aubameyang. Pep has been working in Germany for 3 years so lets trust his judgment - KDB anyone ! We may not even be in for him but using to push the price up for others. Sanchez does, however, have the benefit of knowing and working well in the Premiership.

15 of the 19 teams we played in the prem played with a packed defense even arsenal knew to play on the counter pace. means nothing and power everything in those situations aubameyang for all his ability's is not strong. in europe the opposite was true with sterling and navas pace scaring everyone with this lad it would be something special it depends on what pep wants but aguero does need a bull in the box to take the knocks in the prem

Dialing it down to singular characteristics like 'pace' and 'power' doesn't really capture the problem. Most of the teams we struggled against, got diced by Tothenham. They didn't have much power up front. What they had was a pressure high mentality, and an abundance of technique.

Pace slowa down when technique is lacking, power weakens also. Josy Altidore and Bony are good examples of the latter. What we need is an abundance of technique, and vision. Dribbling technique, ability to take on 2 players thus disorganizing defenses. That's what Boufal or Asensio will bring. Superior dribbling and passing technique from the wide areas. Superior ball control in the middle and clinical finishing up front. The clinical finishing we have in Aguero and DeBryune. The central control we are half way their with Gundogan, if we ad Kroos or Isco or Thiago ( or unbelievably Pogba) our control of the central mid area will be suffocating.

The last thing we need to be adding is another possession breakdown component. And that is what Lukaku is. Benteke is superior technically to Lukaku yet Kloop has wisely gone away from him, because he sees the obvious. Unless you are in a last ditch situation and want to lump the ball forward in the last few minutes. Simply these are not the right players for a technical team.

I agree with this. We all craved for a strong presence upfront after Negredo left, we hoped that we'll get that with Bony. We are still without a settled second striker to cover Kun. Now as much as I think Lukaku is good, I believe that at this moment he is not the solution to our problems. We need someone unorthodox, who'd fit with Pep's unorthodox approach for the game. And Aubameyang is certainly that. He is comfortable on both wings, he is a high presser and is really good upfront. He kinda is like Jamie Vardy.

This all day, especially coming from people who say they don't even watch much or haven't watched that many of BVB/Auba's games. And people who said he has a bad first touch really haven't watched him play. He can score from all angles and is the type of player that we need to get in behind defenses.
