Coman had already featured for a top team in Juve, and when you already have Robben, Ribery, Costa, Muller, Lewandowski, Gotze, Thiago, Martinez, Alaba, Lahm, Vidal etc. you can afford to give a youngster from elsewhere a go. When you need most of a squad newly bought and a bunch of star, top class players to fill it, then you don't waste a spot on a complete unknown playing for FC 'U the fuck?", even Shakhtar let him go.
 
He seems like a talent who is versatile. Haven't seen much of him to form a decent opinion though.
 
I'll trust in Pep for now, maybe he has some different plans for him. Maybe he thinks that current pool of players in our academy don't offer what he does. Let's just not get ahead of ourselves.

Shakhtar didn't let him go, he left at 18 to go and play in the middle of Russia.

They're were desperate to have him back knowing full well they'd probably be looking at 40 million euros in two or three years. Probably the same reason Dortmund have been after him too.

Think people are going overboard on the idea that pep will suddenly play loads of players out of position.

Perhaps, but that's not the case here, seeing as the kid has actually played the position at the Senior level.

Not at all. The stats matter more than the age. And the same principle applies whether 17 or 19. Had he been 27, then there might be an issue.
 
lots of potential and a solid signing for the future but unless he's ready to step in and help us now, this feels a little like a "Zuculini type" signing....and that didnt work out too good.....hope I'm wrong! As mentioned....maybe Pep feels he adds something different to the current pool of players we have in our academy?

A miniKDB to learn from the realKDB. Maybe he could join the eds for one season and train with the first team. Loaning to play first team football isn't everything.

I don't really see the comparison with De Bruyne? Other than they can play in the same area of the pitch. Looks like a totally different kind of player to me. Like comparing Aguero with Bony!
