Many, many businesses do not do business with the EU but they still have to conform to EU standards and red tape!There is no majority that don't trade with them. The massive majority who trade internationally trade with the EU. Trading with the EU is typically the easiest option for most UK businesses.
if you're referring to the general majority of businesses that just don't import or export at all...
Of those that don't do any international trade, it's difficult to suggest red tape is preventing them trading with Europe, as they are not trading elsewhere either - which suggests any barrier to international trade isn't an EU specific thing.
Even those that don't import or export directly - greengrocers / florists / self employed etc, many of their materials will be sourced or transported via the EU though, so they might still feel the effects of change (either way)
Without reading any other comment on here I have to say that was a fuckng awful debate (if you can call it that). Though BBC call it an event!
Both parties were dreadful, the questions were clearly notified in advance, a complete waste of time which makes me think, how the fuck can I vote to leave whilst staying in, not because the arguements were persuasive, on the contrary they were both making me vote the other way.
Finally Julie Etchingham (sp) was bloody awful. The audience was not very challenging either!
I also think ITV missed a trick. What's the point of having Q&A's like that if they don't have a panel on afterwards to pick the bones out of it? I'm not expecting them to be like Sky and milk it for a couple of days but a bit of feedback and fact checking would, I feel, been worthwhile

We are a nation that is not in great economic shape. We still have a lot of cuts come - which a lot of the public haven't really grasped yet, but all the same I think most feel a sense of insecurity over jobs and the future. Farage's dream of a better future is compelling, but I think most people accept it's laced with a fair whack of optimism too.
'Better the devil you know' is also rather compelling in a different way. Most people are risk averse.
Have to say, the interest in this seems far greater than the general election.
