Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang

We are aware of him but so are others? Honestly some of these sports journalists talk so much shit these days with their weird use of language presumably to try to make themselves sound clever. It doesn't make them sound clever it makes them sound like they have learning difficulties.
Lmao haha

Thanks for saving me the time to write the exact same thing.

Aubameyang isn't going to play behind anyone. His game is all about being on the last defender's shoulder and his biggest weakness is his technical ability on the ball. Playing him behind Aguero would make no sense, he lacks all of the attributes you want in that position.

It's much more likely he's either shunted to the wing, like Pep has done before, or Aguero (who dropped deeper and deeper looking for the ball last season, and is miles better at dribbling and passing) plays off Aubameyang instead.

Aguero looked great when played a very similar role when partnered with Bony last season. He'd run the channels or drop deep and pick the ball up, look up and see....Bony miles away from the box and doing nothing good.

But his individual performances were great, and with a good strike partner it might actually be effective.

I stopped at technical ability..... What is this insistence of late of people pretending to know about players???

He's had a great season and he has electric pace. However, not sure how he lines up with Aguero. Surely too expensive to not play week in week out. Think it also highly hinders Nacho who clearly deserves a chance to play second fiddle to Aguero at the very least. Be interesting to see how he'd fit in.

Happy and intrigued if it happens, not really too bothered if it doesn't.
He will be used like henry and david villa were used by pep while at barcilona. Staying at wide right or left wih aguero at center, and attacking by coming inside.

We are either in talks or sky have jumped the gun.

Saying that Dortmund would be quick to dissmiss the speculation if it wasn't likely to happen.

Except I do know about him, I've seen at least 30 dortmund games in the last 2 seasons.

His weakness is his technical ability, if you think that's not true then you've not watched him. It's why Milan released him in the first place.

He's a great player, his finishing is fantastic, so is his positioning, he's good in the air and he's ridiculously fast and knows how to use it, he's worth the £60m we're getting quoted.

But he's not technical, it's his weakness. He's not a passer, he's not a creator, he's a finisher.

The idea that you'd play him in a creative role off a striker is laughable - probably why no manager has ever played him there.

got a feeling we are defo in for him on guardiola's orders. No doubt he was especially impressed with I'm in the bundesliga last season. How long it will take to get the deal done is unclear, could take all summer

I never claimed I knew better than Pep, not sure how you could possibly have inferred that.

Well, as Pep's teams are all about technical ability, I would be surprised if he sanctions City to spend upwards of £60m on a player that you have said struggles in this area.

Well something that really intrigued me a week or so back was his Nation team manager (Cousins) saying that he isn't available for Gabon as he has gone to sort out a transfer. Now, someone just doesn't say that without talks being advanced. I think the Auba camp said they went to meet Dortmund but surely the NT manager wouldn't mix the two things up? Seeing the leaks yesterday and those comments I am still on happening side than the not happening one.

This is the problem though, isn't it.. You see players as round pegs in round holes...

Let's put this another way, if indeed this is his 'Achilles heel', how does it measure against current attacking options???? You are applying the lads history to the way we have played I presume, not how we will set up... An interchangeable 4 of

..............kun................
Sterling......Auba........ KDB

You were half right with Aguero behind, just not fixed as you seem to suggest!!

On the rag cafe link that was on here yesterday there is a dortmund fan who said he is mediocre when played out wide. Went on about games he played out wide last year and how bad he was when there compared to up top.
Hope that's not true as that's where I see him spending most of his time

Have you ever watched Aubameyang play?

I cannot seriously believe anyone who says they have seen him, and actually believes he could play behind the striker. I actually don't believe anyone who says they have.
