Yaya-Keep or Sell?

Well I suppose 40% pay cut for 5 more years may tempt him. Ie long contract with high signing on fee

Yaya is in frequent contact with Mancini and willing to take a 40-50% wage cut. Inter think City will let him go free. [via @AlfredoPedulla]
Buh bye!

If he goes, I'd even offer to buy him a birthday cake.

Too old. Moody. World class going forward when he's up for it - but often not up for it. Sets a bad example for the rest of the team by being lazy. Etc.

Thanks for the wonderful seasons you've had Yaya. But it's time to go.

Sounds like a good idea to me, but surely the entire football world would condemn this as unacceptable cheating. Or is Inter by any chance measured according to different ethics than for example City.
Remember when we had Lampard, can't be worse than that lol

It hurts to say this, but a new brush should sweep clean and Pep needs to start thinking about future. Yaya as cover and as a steady hand later on in tight games yes, but is this a fitting way for him to end his career and would he want to go out like that?

The time might have come to do what Barca did with Xavi and let Yaya go out whilst we still have decent memories of him. Last season he was somewhat hung out to dry in a midfield 2 and offered no protection. I doubt very much if Pep would do that, but Yaya will be 34 next birthday, so it may be time for the parting of the ways and for both parties to move on.

Yaya will always be a legend in my eyes and one of my top 3 City players of all time along with Silva and Aguero irrespective of Cakegate.

He was outstanding right up to us winning the title in 2014 but the respect I had for him vanished with cakegate, and his subsequent performances rarely touched those high levels again. Now there may be any number of reasons for his fall off in performance, but for me the dissing of the club by his agent and without Yaya's denial was as good a reason as any for him to be moved on. City get slagged off by the media and by other club's supporters and the last thing we need is one of our own to join in with the insults.

If he'd gone after that last title win there would be post after post on here lamenting the loss of the best player to ever pull on a blue shirt.

Unfortunately instead what we have gotten is a stark look at what can happen when you try and hold on for too long.

Has to go this summer, a destabilizing influence is not something im guessing Pep will want around that dressing room.

Yaya is a legend. But... There is no way he should be kept in any circumstances.
To stay at the top we need to rebuild a side that is young AND hungry.
Injuries killed us last season and unfortunately he's over the hill AND will pick more and more up.

Was it Pep that put Yaya as CB for Barca in the CL final? Maybe Pep is replanning with the Laporte deal failing?
