The next Prime Minister of Britain

Farage is now expressing concern that Johnson appears to be softening over what he wants out of the negotiations for Brexit. UKIP have already said they will continue to target the Northern labour voters and I can see UKIP, far from disappearing after the Referendum, actually now using this whole mess to further their ugly cause.
Edited for accuracy.

For me, it's got to be Johnson.
He was a key (if not THE) face of the leave campaign, and whilst I have reservations about him, I think he's got to stand up, be counted, and deliver now.

The counter argument to that of course is that just because he was one of the key faces, it's not all about him, and we simply need the best man for the job to steer us through a potentially very troublesome period.

I can't help but feel the leadership and indeed the government is a poisoned chalice for the next few years. After that - who can say?

Some are of a view that our transition to prosperity will be quite smooth, I'm not, hence me believing there's turbulence ahead before any sign of sunshine.

Don't think he will win it. It is said in Tory circles he who wields the knife shall not inherit the crown - think Hestletine. I don't think he has the gravitas nor the capacity to hold such office - even Grant Shapps expressed that view ffs. I think the bluff clownish buffoon act has taken him as far as it can and to be honest probably only plays well with the English ( not even the British )

As Brexit promises unravel he will become more and more tarnished and the idea he somehow thought whilst things began the slide it was clever to fuck off and play cricket..... Jesus.

Could be May - if you consider the Hestletine outcome could be a grey innocuous little man - step forward Gove, Who'd a thowt it Rick Moranis running the UK or whats left of it

Johnson will come to regret being allied to Farage.

This whole debacle has the potential to create divisions within the country that are multi faceted and long lasting. And deeply worrying.

The first bit has happened. By definition we will have to wait to see how long lasting they are.

I am not sure Johnson wants it at this moment. I think he's miscalculated his joust with Cameron and accidentally killed him too soon.
But since I voted remain, I think it's time for him to live by his words. His party aren't keen on him, but the Conservative electorate seem to be.

The SNP are only still in existence because labour is such a shambles. If they ever actually got independence they'd shit themselves. Their whole fairytale is based on north sea oil being in unlimited supply and worth three times as much per barrel as it is now. The silly buggers are basically Scottish ukip (mostly) without the racism.

well that level of endorsement is doing Corbyn a power of good !

I think we should become an anarcho-cynicalist commune and take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week...

But all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting.

Bloody peasants!

If it comes to a vote between May and Johnson I expect, unfortunately, that it will be won by whoever promises to reduce immigration by the most.
