The next Prime Minister of Britain

Boris not standing is huge.

Unfortunately i can now see Fox making a eal fight of it against May and with the party leaning ever more to the right, winning it.

He would lead our brexit campaign without a doubt but domestically he wouldn't make a great PM.

Id love to have an eal (sp)fight with her, the thought of slapping Theresa May around the mush with a fish is brilliant

Crabb will win. Backed by Sajid Javid who will be his Chancellor.
May, Fox and Gove are poison.

If Gove gets the job, it'll wipe out ukip overnight.

You misunderstand why many support UKIP. They are our Trump - an anti-establishment vote. Of course, unlike America's two party system, you shouldn't need to worry too much about UKIP getting any real power.

If Gove gets the job then the Tory Party will have taken leave of its senses. Tory Party do not regard Gove as electable and is a turn off to the public. Only way he could win is by wearing a blond wig and Boris face mask. Mastering the whole 'I'm a twat but loveable' schtick will be tricky but he could handle the trademark Boris move of turning and fleeing out of the room whenever he is asked a tough question.

Nicked off Twitter

Boris: I want a pony, I want a pony
UK: OK but you do know you will have to muck out the stable
Boris: I don't want a pony I don't want a pony

Hey it make me laugh

Smacks of damage limitation for Gove/Johnson, they were going to cop flack for every single one of the leave campaign lies with Johnson in number 10, so instead they've entered the no-hoper of the two as a token effort of well we did want to keep your promises but those damn remainers outflanked us.

On the money that I think.

People on here know my view as to how the EU negotiations will go and even if they go better than I expect, I think there's very little chance that whatever deal we get will be without some drawback or other. Can you *imagine* how trashed Boris' career would be if he had to go back to the electorate and say he's having to agree to unrestricted free movement of labour?

This is a poisoned chalice for someone - and especially anyone in the leave camp. If a retainer gets the PM job, the leavers will be able to say "you've ****ed it up - we would never have negotiated such a terrible deal". If a leaver is doing the negotiations, then all the can say is "sorry we misled you so badly in the referendum".

They've already banked the election, totally fixated on Brexit. Nothing else matters.

Johnson & Gove were gobsmacked when they discovered that they'd won the referendum. I doubt that they would plan to deliberately lose a 2nd contest given the way their 1st attempt at losing turned out.

I think its more likely they've had a massive fall out, possibly over the email sent by Gove's missus, prompting Gove to stand. Johnson's mates have canvassed the MPs and told him he would come 3rd in the MPs vote behind May and Gove. He's paying the price for not building up support among his fellow Tory MPs.

Yep. My argument earlier was that a Remainer like May has to be PM as it gives the Tory some political cover if leave doesn't go well. Someone else said that the Leave Campaign had many proud fathers but in victory is a fucking orphan. The way everyone ducked and ran for cover after Thursday was truly astonishing.

I hate the **** but Cameron has played a blinder here. By stepping down and not being the one to trigger article 50 he's turned the job as next PM into a poisoned chalice. No fucker wants it.
