to be totally honest, it does feel a bit odd in some ways that someone, like yourself, from outside of 10 miles of the area could have an affinty with us,
most, hopefully, or at least some of us accept that's how things are nowadays and a large percentage of us have learned to accept that.

What's the feeling on simply "City"? It's lazy and can be confusing considering the other City teams like Swansea, Hull etc. Personally I usually just say "city" in regular conversation.

What has the forum I'm posting on got to do with anything mate ? I used the word 'supporters' to differentiate from followers/casual fans because although I very rarely get to the Etihad myself anymore and would be called a daytripper by many, I've conversed with enough longstanding City supporters to know that 'ManCity' irks fuck out of loads of them ! They would never use it themselves and they dislike hearing it from others.
I've no doubt this feeling wont reverberate similarly with some newer fans and particularly our rapidly growing and most welcome post 2008 'global fanbase' and I accept that. Perhaps I've not judged the temperature of the room correctly and it'll be a non issue ... you might be right the majority may not care a jot ! I personally think it'll rankle/irritate plenty of the core matchgoing support.

You are probably right about this faction, but the reality is that is a very small part of the supporter base and the club will not cater to them above any other group at this point. Such is life.
 
Opinions. They differ.

Personally, I don't like the new badge at all, and think it looks amateurish, I absolutely hate the new kit, hate the new website, and think this rebranding thing has gone way too far, way too fast.

Edit: And for what it's worth, I agree with IBH when it comes to 'Man City'. Is Juventus' website Juve.it? Barcelona's, Barca.es? Real Madrid's, Real.es?
