Wouldn't worry too much about those Twitter rumours about him wanting to stay at Everton.

Everton are a tough nut to crack.
Chelsea couldn't get Stones 12 months ago despite several failed bids.
Add in a new owner and manager and it could potentially be even harder unless Koeman wants his own players in.

At some point you just have to let the player go. He never retracted his transfer request from last year and by the sounds of it he has deffo made his mind up and wants to come to City. They can either cash in and get a lot of money to help the new manager build his squad or keep him against his will and watch as his value plummets.
 
Maybe he will be presented to the media on Friday when Pep has his first press conference.

I don't think Pep intends to get another CM. If one drops into his lap as a fallout of Pogba s move to Madrid (Kroos) then he'll take it. But by and large I'm expecting wing and defensive acquisitions.

Me too. Then we can get to the business of building a squad.
 
I don't think he is anywhere good enough for us and certainly not at 50m or whatever it is :/
 
How do you think with current players we compare with Euro elite?

If we add Stones, Sane & a couple of full backs can Pep take us to a level where we play Real etc & can give them more than a decent match? I realise it may take more than one season.

I would be of the opposite opinion. Pep "loves his midfield" and only buying gundogan who is currently injured will not nearly be enough.

The transfer forum at the oatcake is a fucking joke right now mate...i'm actually quite concerned about our own window. There is fuck all happening other than us criminally missing out on redmond, and berahino seems to be dragging its arse. Other than this nothing interesting is actually happening, maybe because hughesy is trying to move us up a bar in overall quality of players...we always have to wait for our targets it seems. Witsel was never going to happen.

As i've said before i post a lot here because i find city the most exciting thing in english football at the moment...pep coming, new players, new era of money in the entire league etc. Its really quite fascinating for the outsider. Of course it double helps that i've always despised UTD and its "lets put stickers in bedroom windows and bins" **** fans from all over the shop...i live around a load of them with zero affiliation. The old saying... "we'll, i support them because my family did" ...shudder. Ad to this right now the fact i have disliked jose for years...and it doesn't take a massive leap of faith to understand.
