Paul Pogba

I've absolutely no idea why people on this thread are flapping to the extent that they are. Pogba is a good player, but he's nowhere near the elite bracket of midfielders, Kroos, Iniesta and Verratti who's a similar age have all contributed far more than Pogba ever has.

Let's put it into context, United are doing what they do best, splashing money around aimlessly without thinking of how he'd fit best into their side. They do it every year, there was the same level of flapping when they signed MS and BS last year, but they both flopped.

I'd question where United will play Pogba anyway, IMO you can't play him in a pivot, as he doesn't work hard enough, so the other option is the LCM in a 3, the problem with that is you're then changing what Uniteds potential best system is. Pogba isn't nimble or intelligent enough for the no10 role either, so again it causes a problem.

Like I say, they're willing to pay €120m to a guy who's never scored more than eight goals in a season, there's a reason why City, Real, Barca, PSG and Chelsea aren't at the table.

Imagine they did pay that and didn't get in the top four. Obvs that kind of outlay is within their means, but it'd be at the expense of adding much else for quite a long time. I'd rather they didn't get him but if it somehow didn't work out it would leave them in a bit of a mess i imagine.

Pep said last week that the most important characteristic he looks for in a player is their belief in the idea of the 'team' as opposed to the individual. Pogba is someone who is incredibly driven and self motivated, but it's also built around personal achievement and personal accolades rather than collective ones (hence his regular comments about wanting to win the Ballon d'or). He isn't a Pep player.

this, this and thrice this.

Mourinho, Zlatan, Rooney, potentially Pogba, even that Martial kid.

Pogba going to United makes no sense, he hated it there before, has spoken badly about them multiple times and they're not in the Champions League.

Pogba to Madrid, Kroos to us.

The way I see it, and that is not influenced by sources, twitter, social media, papers, ITK's or the latest 'an affiliate partner', is nothing will happen for as long as any of Pogba, Kroos, Sane or any player is still involved in the EC. After that we will see what guess had won it and media can put the link to "as revelaed by ..." in their story.

I have an affiliate partner in the south who's told me that Willian says Pogba to United is as good as done.

Not that it's signed & sealed yet, but it's all agreed awaiting contracts

Why would Willian know? Not challenging, but curious

I've been pretty adamant that Pogba to Utd was unrealistic but the figures being bandied about are astronomical, even in today's over inflated market. If they really are prepared to go as high as €120 and no one else is interested then Its conceivable that a deal could be made.
The truth is he will improve them, he's a very good player with the potential to get better. They will be a lot better than what we've seen the last couple of seasons and I can see them push for a top 3 finish.
It doesn't matter though because whats important is what we're doing, and regardless of what business those gobshites do we've already trumped them and our spending hasn't even started.
City are back motherfuckers.

No matter what else you think of him, I think Martial is not a big ego. He's boring as fuck and keeps quiet, never heard a peep about him being shunted out wide even though he's said at monaco he wants to be central.

He strikes me as the kind of personality our management would like.

I think the comparison to Kanye is a pretty good one. Pogba's ego and his belief in what his talent is is as far away from the reality as Kanye's actual talent is in comparison to his ego. Both men are incredibly talented but neither man is ever going to be what they think they are.

See I don't disagree with the rest of your post at all but this is just a silly comparison. Has Pogba claimed to be a god? No. Did Pogba get on stage during the presentation of the Ballon d'Or in 2015 and say "Ronaldo had one of the best seasons of all time"? No. He doesn't talk shit in the media and I'm yet to see anything that would prove that his ego is way out of check.

On the pitch he is selfish at times and I'm not saying we should sign him but I simply don't agree with people portraying him as some sort of arsehole celebrity when he's done nothing to earn that reputation. A lot of it also seems to be attributed to the fact that his club and agent are demanding ridiculous sums of money.

Unless someone can find me an example other than him choosing to shoot too often or his garish personal style, I think it's absolutely absurd to compare him to Kanye.

He's moody boy always looks like he thinks he's a bad boy maybe ego was wrong word.

I have met him, i was with a colleage who speeks fluent french and i can get by. He seemed sound. He was with his wife and thier baby having lunch in town.

They've lost their identity, Mourinho Ibra Pogba it will all just end in tears and what makes it more laughable is how desperate they are that they can't see it haha.

But their propaganda machine will soon be spoon-feeding the brain-dead masses that Hose A, Ibra and Pogba were born / bred within the shadow of Old Trafford. We'd expect nothing less from such a truly repulsive Club.
