Paul Pogba

You think if we got Pogba we would have got Delph too?

Yes. Obviously. They weren't connected. To say that Delph is a plan b for Pogba is absurd. Delph had a release clause of 8 million for CL teams and we triggered it. If we wanted to we could have triggered it bought him and then sold him for a profit. He didn't take up a foreign spot so we would have been stupid not to buy him regardless of who we had in the midfield.

More than decent. If they get him, it will be a massive blow to City. Makes City's rivals credible title contenders for many years to come. I hope City's transfer negotiators know what they are doing letting Utd have a free run at him. I'm hoping Chelsea or Real madrid step in but not looking good

So you don't want him at the rags but don't mind him going Chelsea.
You say he'll make the rags title challengers, what the duck will he make Chelsea?
Anyway, all moot as he'll be at Madrid or Juve by the start of September, nowhere else.

This reminds me so much of our pursuit of Alexis Sanchez, who went to Barcelona.
It is the hope that kills you, and Utd are nowhere near Madrid for pulling power.
Morata and Kross sold equals the Pogba fee.
Hardly rocket science
Or Isco

Because he's the most sought after midfielder in the world right now and probably the best player around that's attainable. We can do what the rags do and pretend we didn't want him anyway and that he's crap and overrated but that's just wrong. It will be similar to letting Chelsea get Hazard or when RVP went to United, only this time there's every reason to believe there's something we could actually do about it as you have to imagine he'd prefer City over United.

Or quite simply the club do not value him as much as his agent and Juventus do.

He is attainable in the same way Messi is. I.E offer an obscene amount to the selling club and player for wages. No other club in the world see the same value in Pogba and there is a reason why Madrid, the ultimate Galactico club, have not yet made a bid.

not easily trying to fit all them egos into 1 team will be very hard then u got the manager whos got the biggest ego of all wanting the limelight it will end in disaster maureen will get himself sacked before the season is out!

Nonsense. And just wishful thinking.

To all those crying about Pogba to Utd and how good he is are you not watching this Germany game? Bloody idiots.

Surely the fact we can't compete for Pogba, because our budget is restricted by FFP means the reverse of your last line?
We can't compete for Pogba? Are you joking?

If we wanted to spend that, we easily could. Of course we still have a budget, every healthy business operates with a budget regardless if your rolling in it or not.

As I think Tolmie pointed out, it's a £150m deal. It's not just the £100m bid, factor in the agent pay offs (there will be a line of "agents" with claims to things not just 1) and every other little details before you even get to wages. If he actually wants £300,000 a week, that's probably the biggest factor putting us off (along with Mino probably knowing he can get at least a £10m payoff out of the desperate rags, which we have a policy against ludicrous agent payoffs) as it'd totally screw up our wage structure and we can't make exceptions for one player.

Some right softarses on here to be honest, how many times have we posted ragcafe and its flapping threads, when were linked to a player, and we go and return the favour.
Is pogba better than elbows mata and the like, of course he is by a country mile but Christ lads he ain't fuckin messi and he ain't all that full stop, we should be revelling in the fact that a lad they had on their books is about to cost then circa 200 million of their hard borrowed cash, think about it fellas, 200 mill spunked up the wall and he's missed the last two or three seasons where he could of had a team built around him and the rag twats would have 200 mill to spunk elsewhere, rejoice boys it's a monumental fuck up and surely the costliest mistake in football ever.

@argyle I think we were after both which sent Delph into the u/w-turn. If we got Pogba, we wouldn't have got Delph. Delphi was worried Pogba would mean next to no playing time for him.
