Labour / Tory Party meltdown Referendum fallout

Ridiculous he doesn't have to get the nominations, there is no point trying to go up against him in that case, fix

I can see both points of view. However, it is now down to Labour Party membership and that is more democratic.
Would surprise me if there WASN'T a party split after this, but that might be a good thing in a way.

He should have had to get the 51 nominations,if he can't get his mp's on his side he is wrong to continue, democratic vote for the members yes but he has to have the support of the people he works with and is in charge of

18-14 vote by NEC hardly a stitch up, party rules are a grey area here and the coup lot saying about kinnock having to get nominations are wrong he never needed to get them either when challenged but wanted to to prove his support was still their nowt to do with a party rule.

The PLP have been fucking this up from the start and look more and more in chaos and unorganised in their coup, and unelectable if they had got rid of him anyway. not thouggt through at all.

Maybe they are the problem though, not him.

If they all resign he is the problem, you don't watch someone tear apart your party and do nothing, they could never unite to fight an election. As a labour party member i am furious about the whole thing,he has wasted a year doing nothing but giving speech's to his supporters only

I don't think anyone in the Labour Party comes out with any credit - the MPs have conducted themselves poorly and Corbyn stubbornly staying on when, quite clearly, he isn't leader of the opposition material, never mind PM material. Corbyn seems very lazy, it's ok having unconventional views but he needs to put himself in position to argue/implement, which he isn't doing

As for Eagle, she appears totally unlikeable and I can't see her coming close.

Maybe Corbyn will win them resign.......

The best thing that could happen is that we get more, smaller parties. The right wing of the Tories go to UKIP, the centre-right of Labour form a new centre-left party plus there's still the Lib-Dems. Maybe the hard and soft left even split.

That will increase the pressure for some sort of PR and will mean permanent coalition governments.
We can but dream.

Had the PLP put up a viable candidate to challenge Corbyn then I doubt many would have such an issue. But Angela Eagle? How can she possibly be considered more electable than Corbyn? Her voting record is atrocious. Labour has been in trouble for a long time and people like her, Harman and Cooper are part of the problem.

Before Corbyn was elected, the Labour Party, in Opposition under Harriet Harman, agreed to Austerity measures. The Welfare Reforms etc etc.
I'm not saying Corbyn is the answer but I defend his right to at least have a voice over shit like that. If you want a Labour Party that gets elected having adopted Tory Lite policies then fair enough, but this country needs a voice that is the alternative.

really, nothing like the vitriol momentum hand out I'm sure. I reckon they all have targets, You owe me 100 anti corbyn scalps. And I ant my scalps

No both sides are as bad people crying at bristol clp meeting after threats and abuse from blairites, violence threatened to corbyn supporters at a brighton clp event and today Gorton clp which I am a member of suspended after it was reported for threats of violence and vote rigging again from the right of the party.

Mommentum are reported more on because it suits the narrative of the main stream media, both sides have cunts and both should be reported equally.

That will be, no doubt, the media angle from here on in. Corbyn will be Trump by September.

Eagles may get deselected in Wallasey.

Interesting to see what happens if he wins again. Chances of a split if that happens must be very high.

You have to laugh though. Dodgy Dave calls a referendum which he loses and it's Labour which tears itself apart.
If he wins the Blairites will join up with the Tory Remain MP's to form a new party.

If the bbc news post it John McTernans mini breakdown has been hilarious.

On a side note the NEC have barred new registered members after feb 1st from voting and any new registrations will be £25 initial payment
