City "fourth most hated club" in the Premier League

Considering the character of our players (we genuinely have very likeable people playing for us) this is pretty much down to money + success.
Wonder just how important media narrative is in all this, whilst we certainly get a lot of shit, the rags are practically sucked off at every opportunity.

We must be making ground. The story is how City are 4th, not how Utd are 2nd! Oh, wait.

I wonder what the survey actually asked.

As Bobby Clarke once said, "If you aren't giving them any reason to hate you, then you're probably not much of an opponent."

I clicked on the rag section to see if there was an article on how they were the second most hated team.

I should have saved my time.

It's no coincidence that the clubs in the top few "most hated teams" also happen to be the most successful, in recent years anyway. Leicester get a let off because it was so unexpected and they have a lot of good will.

It frustrates me when I hear so much negativity towards City especially from neutrals. But if that's the price we have to pay for the situation the club is now in, then I'll take it. I certainly prefer it to when were in the lower divisions getting our hair ruffled as perennial underachievers.

I'm surprised Chelsea came second amongst City fans, I would have thought Liverpool would have been a shoe in for that.
Yeah, I don't really get the hatred for Chelsea. Or Chelsea's hatred for us really. We're kinda in the same boat in terms of the whole "buying the title" bullshit we have to put up with, and despite the fact that we've both won the title in recent times, we've not had the sort of bitter title race that we've had with some other teams. I can only assume it's the Mourinho factor, but that's more hate for him than hate for the club.
