just got some info from my mate last night. He works at city and he told me about stones and the shirt number day before etc. If peeps remember that post. He told me last night that hes been told not to make up or print any hart AND nasri shirts anymore for the store. Make up your own minds on that, but my mate had given me solid info before. I asked him again this morning and nothing has changed!

Seriously? Caballero may not fill me with confidence but he made a couple of very good saves yesterday and played as a sweeper-keeper fairly competently. And to say that Joe would have saved their goal. How do you know? A frankly embarrassing post.

I think Hart will come good. He doesnt have to do much to get back into the team. He will always had a option from kick outs to pass to 3 players or more. His condfidence is iffy. We seen this before under MP he dropped Hart and Hart came back in and won his place and had a brilliant season too. I think Hart will battle for his place against Willy or if we sign his replacement. Hart knows he can be a lot better than he is. I wouldnt be shocked if Pep goes with Hart for the Tuesday Champions League game and sees how Hart does against Steaua also it wouldnt shock me to see the same 11. Players are still in pre season mode after the Euros and it doesnt help. Pep will improve a lot of players willing to take on his methods. Look at Delph for instance I thought he be 1 to go but still about and doing a roll for Pep. Hart can easily do the same. I was 1 of Harts biggest critics over the years just needs a condifence boost. Will see what happens over the coming weeks and how Hart reacts to being dropped and having to win his place back.

No because a. I actually think Willy's distribution is worse than Joes. B. Pep isn't going to pick the inferior keeper.

Not sure what your point is. Even if Willy is the poorer of the two at distribution (debatable), Willy was willing to implement Peps way of working. Pep therefore in his mind, picked the best for the job.

Here's a fact: Joe is an absolute top goal-keeper. One of the best in the league, that is an objective fact. You just need to get his stats up and actually watch him during our games. Sure he makes a few mistakes but eveyone does.

Even objectively; he's joint highest for Golden gloves (4) and has singlehandedly kept us in the champions league numerous times. How people can still sit there and deny his ability astounds me.


Here's another fact: he just might not be the right fit for our current managers plans. This doesn't detract from his ability, it's just something that can happen. And if that's so we have to stand by the manager but as fans show respect to servants of the club no matter who they are.


For so many people to come into this thread "saying about time" and slagging him off mercilessly shows a lack of class befitting the RAGs. Joe has performed for us to the best of his ability for years and years, as far as I'm concerned he is a city legend and we would do well to remember him as he actually was and how the media are portraying him now: a short tempered easily beaten keeper. Which he by no stretch of the imagination actually is.

I'd love to know where this sudden public concensus on him being a bad apple have come from. He's a very passionate man, but he's also a competitive man, and every story about him is just showing this side of him. I'd be very surprised to learn he's a twat but if there's proof then I'd happily eat my words

There aren't many slagging him off mate. Maybe one or two but the general consensus from what I can see is people thinking there are flaws to his game which if not worked on will result in him losing his place. That was put to the test yesterday when the teams were put up and somewhat vindicated those who were of that opinion.
The problem with any Hart criticism is its deemed disrespectful because of how long he's been with us and the overall good job he's done.

Joe is a very good keeper, capable of terrific, even world class saves. He is also capable of the odd fuck up, and we all know about his distribution. The fact is although very good, he's not top drawer if we're honest about it. Pep wants a keeper who is not only a top keeper, but who is also comfortable on the ball. Unfortunately for Joe this is where he fails.
So, do we accept Joe as a very good tier 2 keeper, because of sentiment and memories. Or do we go for a tier 1 keeper who fits with what the manager wants?
