Champions League Group Stage

The upside is that even if we come second, we can't get Barcelona again in the last 16.

Can't see Leicester or Arsenal winning their groups although Spurs would seem to have a decent chance. But if they don't then we've got 5 chances of a winnable last 16 tie.

Its not bent, it was just shit luck. Your draw, which must have taken a bit of time to create, has several issues - namely 3 English sides in one half, 3 German sides in one half, and Russian and Ukrainian teams in the same group. There are probably others too.

Positives to be taken from the draw are;
  • We can't get Barcelona in the Round of 16
  • Less important to finish top because you wouldn't mind playing the winner of Groups A,B,E,G, or H
  • Cheap trips (less than £30 e/w for each game)
Negatives
  • No new grounds (for me)
  • Even if we win the group, could still get a very difficult 'runner up', particularly D or F

No reason why both clubs can't give each other a bigger allocation to try and minimise the chance of away fans in home sections

Think Celtic will give you ~3300, just because anymore and they'd have to give you a part of both tiers which is like 8500, cant have you either below Celtic fans, or above them. Police wont allow it. Demands too high for these games so they'll not allow 8500. No City fans will get tickets for the home end, Celtic fans struggle to get them. Place is ram packed regardless of who we play in the CL. On the flip side, don't know how strict your lot are with tickets but you could end up with thousands of Celtic in the home end if not careful. Celtic would fill a 30k allocation if given.

We could sit on the floor maybe?

The answer to that is not very strict so I expect lots of Celtic fans in the home end! I assume quite a few Celtic fans will have a purchasing history at City too as plenty have probably been to a game or two. It must be shite watching that standard every week up there so for a bit of variety a 2 hr or so train journey and a decent game.

We have made major cock ups with fans in the home end at CL games including German fans right in the middle of the singing section!

Does anyone know if you get a cityzen membership you get a supporters number that allows you to apply for away tickets. Got a mate who's got a ticket lined up but no supporters number

You'd get a supporters number but doubt it would allow you to get an away ticket due to not having enough ticket points on the account mate especially with the new European ticket collection

Initially pissed off that we haven't got somewhere new to visit. But then rembered that Barcelona is warm, sunny, vibrant, good value, has great food and easy ticket availability. And we get to watch the 2nd best team in the world play against City. If we win, it will be seen as the key date in City's path to the very top of European football.
£60 return flights. A bargain.
