John Stones - 2016/17 performances

Can tackle, head, reads the game well and can pass out from the back. What's not to like?!! Looks like he's been playing under pep for years.

Everton fans said he couldn't head the ball or tackle, but he's been absolutely immense since day 1.
 
Kompany has to wait for his chance and then out perform stones or otta for me which if they keep this up is not going to be easy. He should know this anyway considering he hasn't put a good run of games together for quite some time now
 
Said it back in June & again in July & in August so for 1 last time in September John Stones will be The best centre back in Europe & go into the World Cup one of the best in the World, he is the future City & England captain. £47m is a snip for this kid, If he was playing for the scum he would be labled the best now funny how nothing has been said since we paid the big bucks.
 
Seems to spend a lot of time talking to Pep during the game. His old school style of defending has impressed me since he signed especially with everyone saying he couldn't do it. Made a couple of John Terry style blocks today after a great performance on Saturday

There in lies the problem I whined about all summer. He didn't make many brIn farts. The few he did were just overblown and overplayed. So far he has made 6 mistakes by my count for City. But none have led to goals, so no overblown media coverage.

I kept pointing folks to the obvious during the summer. He made fewer errors than any of our Central defenders 'per minute' last season. Fewer than Kompany, Ota, Mang or MD. But folks just got hypnotized by the 3 errors that led to goals, and started making up other errors by association.

Nothing he has done here is surprising, unusual or unexpected. Thia was how he played at Everton most of last season. Folks just chose not to watch. I downloaded about 15 Everton games and watched them all. I was sold by game 5. He was an unhidden gem wrapped in talking heads bullshit.

Sadly too many bought the bullshit.

Some player this kid. Rolls Royce of a footballer and the price we paid is looking like a bargain!
