He has settled in very well so far. Today's performance was excellent and at the moment it doesn't feel like we are missing Kompany whereas last season it was obvious how much we needed him. This could be a lot to do with Pep's tactics but I also think Stonesy is making a valuable contribution already.

Hi Evertonian here. Have waited a week or two to sign up and post about Stones. First thing to say as many of you are now realising Stones is an absolute Rolls Royce of a player and whilst prone to the odd error has been a pleasure to watch, the reason I go to footy is to enjoy the talents of players like this. Biggest compliment I can give him is he is the nearest thing to Alan Hansen since.... well Alan Hansen! I know relations between Everton and City have been strained over the years but I wish him ( and yourselves)well and will hope he turns into the player he should, yours and England's captain. Like Rooney for 30 mill in 10-12 years time the money you have spent on him will look an absolute bargain - we just need to spend it well! He will make mistakes ( like all players) but his talent and style of play is worth it. Good luck for the title, as it is defo between you and the rags - and there's only one winner there for me and most fans. Enjoy the lad - one day hopefully we will live the dream that you all are- I can imagine that you can still hardly believe your luck of the last 5-6 years after the horrors of the 80's and 90's and 00's

Great post thanks for sharing your thoughts. All the best for the season.

As if people were judging him for being dodgy in a Martinez defence. Baresi and Maldini would look dodgy in a Martinez defence....!!!

Hmm...

Seriously meant that genuinely. Understood your pain of United's dominance - its what we had with Liverpool in the 70's and 80's a nightmare to go into school/work with smug reds every Monday. Genuinely pleased for you - its what every fan dreams of what's happened to you, and as I said don't think any set of fans suffered more than you in that era hence if it was Everton I would be thanking my lucky stars!! Back to Stones a great lad, fantastic player who left in the right way and will benefit you no end.

Nice one mate, good post.

He's such a Guardiola player and will benefit hugely by playing under him. Hopefully he'll mature into a world class centre half and go on to be a success for England.

There's something very wrong with this country's three big red clubs (Utd, L'pool and Arse'), Arsenal less so but their fan base are so self-entitled still.

Couldn't agree more. No idea what suffering is - listen to the kopites after losing to Burnley - cringeworthy. Always felt Everton City and prob Sunderland fans are pretty similar arrogant and deluded rivals.- only forums I go on are BlueMoon GOT and A love Supreme, there is a humour you would never find on Redcafe or RAWK. In all fairness whilst I think Koeman will be good for us Stones would have been mad to turn down Guardiola. Just glad Chelsea didn't get him and all the crap of him learning from John Terry we had to put up with last year. As an aside have you got a song for Stones?
An ironic one for the Money Can't Buy you Stones we sang last year would actually be quite good.

Yeah sorry, but the rags didn't and still don't bother me after all these years...
