Yaya Toure apologises

Yaya has retired from international duty today forgoing the chance to play at the African Nations in Jan.
Chinese super League transfer window opens on Jan 1st.

A load of rambling nonsense Dax. I really don't care if he does apologise or not. He is done at city far too slow these days to play anything more than a bit part. Pep is just voicing the opinion of the majority who are sick and tired of Yaya and his agent. Would I rather it had all ended differently of course I would but the glory days are gone now and it's time he hit the road hopefully in January but with your encouragement perhaps he will sit on his arse for another six months.
I would. It would be dumb not to. Unless that is, a better deal comes thru. In the end, this is a business and they are workers. You fashion out the best deal for yourself. Max he has 3 more years of average to poor football left. Why give up 10 million to please fans who mostly already dislike you?

I wouldn't.

To be fair, this isn't that impressive. Yaya was already a fringe player on the squad. Left to management they'd have rather he moved on. So putting your foot down on an aging fringe player isn't that impressive. There are lots of Impressive things Pep has done here, but this isn't one of them. I know the hate for Yaya here makes folks go gaga over any bad that befalls him. But lets keep it factual, any manager would have taken the same decision. I mean Schweinsteiger didn't say shit at United and Mourihno sent him to go play with the youth team.
Sit
When you are surplus to requirement, this is what happens. If i were Yaya, I sure would not apologize. Sit tight, collect your 250 a week for the rest of your one year. Keep your aging legs fresh so you can play a few more paid for seasons when your contract of getting paid to relax is over. It's only in the mind of fans do they think this is actually a negative for Yaya. I mean I'd love for my company to overpay me to take a vacation for a year at a position I am surplus to requirement at.

Truth is this works for all sides. Pep doesn't have to workout ways to fit some aging ex ward into his new philosophy and an ex-great player doesn't have to spend his last year hoping for 10 minute scraps at the end of games. To me this is a win win situation. Perhaps a win-win-win. As the fans who have always disliked Yaya and deemed his actions disreputable can too pump their fist in joy for having won finally. :)

I guess its a trifecta :) But none of it is that impressive. IN my opinion obviously :)

It does lay a precedent though. No other players at City are going to go to the press if they want to play for us.

He's also bollocked Raheem for overusing Social Media too. Pep hates it.

This can only be good for the club in the long run. Whether Yaya apologises or not is irrelevant as he's not going to play for us again anyway.

Finally a manager who won't be fucked around by players & their agents. I wonder how Tevez would have gotten on under Pep!

We all know this but just happy yaya is coming off looking like a wanker and can't hold the club to ransom anymore. When was yaya a fringe player? He's only been a fringe player since pep took over

Seluk is speaking for him. Agents are always speaking for their clients. And if they misspeak, they are quickly corrected. It's always the player screwing up. Agents are simply vessels. It's the analogues to talking on your phone to someone. And the person thinking it was your phone talking and they need to hear you say it personally. The player /agent distinction is one fans make when they like or think they need the player. Its a fan fallacy.

Just like it was Tevez back in the day, it is Yaya now.

In the case of Seluk I'm not so sure. He was dead against Yaya signing for City. But Yaya has allowed him to say what he wants, so it's still his responsibility anyhow.

Not only is Pep a tactical genius, he's a manager who knows how to manage players.

But lets keep it factual, any manager would have taken the same decision.
I don't think that's factual. Do you think Pellegrini would have done the same if he was still here? I think he'd have asked Yaya for forgiveness and reinstated him immediately into a two man midfield.

'Difficult to leave him out of CL squad but day after his agent spoke, he was out' - didn't think I could love this bloke any more
Shuts up all those that were saying "Pep won't care what the agents says, he's just creating a market for his player"

Well done Pep.

I think your summary is fairly accurate on all counts however if Yaya needs to apologise to Pep personally over something his agent may have said it should involve his agent.

If its something Yaya has said and Pep/ the Club have taken offence to that then fair enough.

As for the club no club wants a highly paid player to sit on the side lines for a full season no matter the affordability angle.

We loaned out Nasri , Mangala , Hart and Bony and its unlikely any of those players will play for the club again if past history is any indication and no doubt Yaya was in a similar category with Pep deciding he can cover any injuries with youth in big games even if necessary a departure of sorts from the previous manager.

Yaya should bust his balls to train with the first team and do what is necessary to put pressure on other players to perform and be ready if injuries take their toll.

Pep's record on the injury front is such that all the squad will get an opportunity.

Lets get this right, yaya has said numerous times his agent speaks for him and has never corrected him once even with the stuff about the club not letting him see his dying brother,if you think differently then you have a lot of reading to do since we won the title last

He's also pretty much refuted everything his agent has ever said. Both can't be correct.

So we have a stand off,i can't see him or his agent backing down, hopefully yaya will go in january
Love pep even more
I can't wait for City to upload the full press conference.

Yaya didn't have "the courage to speak to him".

God I've missed having a manager with balls.

Presume toure will keep quiet here and just see out contract. Would be suprised if he did anything else. I am pleased with peps decision tho finally showing some balls
