Allardyce leaves job after Telegraph sting

Clearly a bit of a dick but then again they knew that when they appointed him and it's hardly been the yardstick that they used for employing his predecessors so I can't see them getting rid.

Unless Maureen's available.

Don't bother planning if you are travelling some distance. I bet all our games are moved with stupid kick off times.

Finaly.. i really cant see what he has done that calls for all this fuss, to sack him over this would be pathetic.

Some people seem to only see black and white.

I don't believe it is obvious if he should be sacked or retained. Being England manager implies he is an ambassador of the FA. He unequivocally criticised his employer. Granted, he said it in a private conversation but this isn't a conversation with a friend or member of the family. It is with people he does not know and increases the chances of it being made public.

Personally, I can see strong arguments on either side of the debate.

The precedent was set with Venables. His business dealings got him the boot, BFS should go same way.

I bet Stuart Pearce, Steve Bruce and Alan Curbishly are preying this will be the case.

Friend of a friend was high up in Green Flag at the time of Venables and he has said that he was the most crooked man he had ever met

He had backhanders on everything - even player interviews with the press had to be held in one of his venues and were then billed at a ridiculous rate

Allegedly

There will probably be something in his contract about bringing the game/fa into disrepute. The fa don't like this kind of publicity so he is on very thin ice here. Even the comments about hodgson,Neville and the players mentality won't help him. If the fa can get rid without much fuss I think they will. If it costs them they may try and ride it out.

I'm not too bothered one way or another regarding Fat Sam, because I'm just not interested in the whole England set-up. But I would love to know just how deep and ingrained corruption is within football - and I would die a happy man if Gill and the Pisscan were proven to have been in it up their necks.

Skysports reporting from an "unnamed manager" that around 10 managers were contacted as part of this sting. Don't get me wrong, Big Sam for me is guilty as sin and a bent ****. But isn't that akin to entrapment? Put feelers out to as many managers as possible and close the net to those stupid enough to chase the pound sterling so to speak. Big Sam shouldn't have been greedy enough given his position as England manager.

No one forced him to do anything, or coerced him. They'd heard that he and certain other managers could be bought and so they put a feeler out to test if it's true, then true to form the greedy **** was more than happy to take a meeting with some less than scrupulous characters as long as there was money in it for him, presumably he does this sort of thing all the time. He's there with his agent and financial adviser, he's clearly not new to this sort of thing (and has been caught with his hand in the till before).

You can guarantee Moyes is in the mix as one of those.

There has always been a whiff about Sam, as there has been about Harry and Pardew (and the rest) Rumours, open secrets, dodgy dealings and back handers. We all know the game is rotten from top to bottom. The media indulge the excesses and turn a blind eye. Gill manipulating through obvious conflicts of interest, bent referee claims from Halsy etc. It all goes nowhere because every single one of them are knee deep in the mire....
Sam goes and another crook arrives. same difference... Boooooo!

Quite bizarre that pundits are saying they hope he doesn't lose his job for "non football reasons". Money is so intrinsically part of modern football that it is impossible to separate the two.

I'm not an England fan and don't give a monkey's about who manages the team but I can't see how Sam can keep his job after what has been released.
