I guess we have to think that Pep's only seen Kolarov play in a handful of games and to be fair, apart from the Celtic game, he's been very good. Pep hasn't seen the utter garbage we've witnessed for 3 seasons.
I think Pep will have watched quite a few games from last season, he's a thorough guy.

For someone who prepares very well then pep has to bear responsibility of putting him in again spurs,we could see he is now to slow for that kind of game, sagna is older but still has more pace

They would have done stuff in training with pressing just as intense as Spurs as well - on very small pitches to see how the players can cope with pressure like that.

Kolarov's problem is his one-footedness. It's why he's scored 2 own goals in the last week. You just can't have a player that one footed in central defence when the idea is to attract the press and quickly play round it.

Well you would have thought so, but 99% of fans on here (myself included) cringed when they saw the starting line up v Spurs. He was a train wreck waiting to happen in that game, as indeed proved the case.

Oh of course, although there were reports Pep had been watching 100's of hours of City footage so surely he must have seen that Zabs is on the wane and Kolarov can only have a good first five games?

Zabba has been such a great player for City but clearly his days are numbered against top opposition. I would love to see him back at City in some role maybe later in his career. ...he has become such a legend at City.

So why do you think he played him against Spurs, instead of Clichy? Who we all know is much quicker, more willing to race back, gets out of position less often / badly, and is altogether much more reliable?

EDIT: Sorry, this is getting a bit OT isn't it. This thread is about Zabba.

He will play maybe another 15 to 20 games for us. Let's enjoy his last season.

Sagna injured (best of the 4 for me)...I think Zab will play against Barca but Maffeo against Everton.

He's a great guy and loves playing for his country so can't fault him. But the selfish part of me would have preferred him to retire in the hope it would have allowed him to play at a higher level for us.

Well lets hope he finds some of the old magic cos looks like Sagna will be out a few weeks.

Of course we get injuries to positions where we havent got much depth or quality. FB, 8 role (KDB) and CB...

Couldn't believe it that we tried to squeeze yet another year out of aging fullbacks. Lets hope Zaba can find some form.

Gonna be a tough couple of weeks , no way can he play against the level of wingers Everton , Barca , Southampton and United have In consecutive games. Fernandinho to RB or time to blood Maffeo?
