City v Everton post match

This was a different type of game to the home games we've seen to date. EFC didn't try and compete in midfield or up front. As soon as we had the ball, they just retreated so it wasn't that good play by City that led to us camping around their box. Their game plan was defend the box. I think if Aguero had been 100%, we'd have won comfortably. Despite dominating possession in 1st half, we had very few chances and had little goal threat.

I completely disagree. What let us down today was that final pass. We played ourselves into so many positive positions only for that pass to be an inch away from a player having a tap in.

1st pen goes in, they have to open up, we win by 2 or so
Dominated them and it just didn't happen today stop fcxking flapping

Team defends, we can't break teams down

Team presses, we can't cope

We are top of the league for a reason, we ain't that bad you know :)

Think people actually only happy with perfection
News flash, it ain't gonna happen
If we are in the mix with 8 games to go the league is ours

That and Kelechi not getting into better positions. The final ball was poor today as were the corners. We were going short earlier in the season but now seem to be long on every one.

I take it you don't visit the match day forums very often on here?

Fwiw, I completely agree.
No, knocked this place on head for a couple of weeks but dipped into this thread on the way home from the game and reading the first 20 odd pages was enough to make me realise that a couple of weeks wasn't enough.

Poor performance today. We created very little. And the movements in the final 3rd were labored

Poor performance today ???????????????????????????????

i think some people are just glory hunters from over the road (you my son) are taking the piss

It says a lot when koeman says we were the best opponents he has ever faced in his managerial career

Everton's manager seems to completely disagree with you in that he thinks City are the best team he has ever faced IN HIS MANAGERIAL CAREER. Still, what does he know compared with you??

Loving this season so far. Every blue should be really (except those who are being fucked about unnecessarily at the ground for one reason or another) yet for some reason this place is as bad as it was at Pellers worse point.
It's fucking weird how so many can be so negative at this stage. Well, I say weird but reading a lot of posts it's not so much weird, just people who have such high, unreachable expectations that they're never going to be happy.
It has made for some proper grim reading the last few weeks. Half the drivel being posted on here is by folk who don't deserve this club.
Today has happened to every top club in the world on many occasions. Dominate, play some great stuff and fully deserve 3 points. But football doesn't always work like that. Sometimes the ball wont go in, the final pass is just off and the opposition score with their only chance of the match. Missing 2 pens will obviously be the talking point yet even without them we had chances to win. I'm not sure what some are after but it makes for some pretty fucking awful reading.

It's a shame really because there's some great posters on here - sadly they're outnumbered by complete fuckwits on days like today.

+1

I thought today some of the football we played was absolutely sublime. All that was missing was that final ball.

You are always going to struggle against any Premier league side but especially Everton who were lets say "robust", if you can't hit the back of the net from the penalty spot.

I am glad I have paid my £750 to go and watch the football we are trying to play rather than that dogshit stuff Everton served up.

Anyway we are always going to concede with this high press with the players Pep has at his disposal currently. Nice to be able to say "we'll be top at 5 o'clock", I love watching footie on a Saturday afternoon.

What is wrong with you lot?! We should be moaning about how disgraceful it is to drop two points at home, how the performance was pathetic and the players don't deserve their wages, how the manager doesn't know what he is doing, how the referee is a scouse-lover etc etc etc. What kind of rags are we?!! (Damn, wrong website...)

Cracking game. The quality of some of our movement and passing and multiple inter-plays was a joy to watch. Sane, Silva, Kev all excellent. Gundogan ran the midfield until he tired at around 65. Nacho and Sterling were a bit off, Sergio the same, but with a bit more ruthlessness we would have taken the 3 points. And we will improve, no doubt.

And well played Everton. They've got a good team ethic and some decent players and if Lukaku stays fit they could well break into the top 4 this season.

Off the field - what a shambles. We have people working for the Club who are quite clearly not up to the job sadly.

I always expected a tough game today and would have been delighted with 3 points even with a bad performance! What we obviously got was 1 point but a good performance.

I didn't expect us to be so dominat over Everton, probably the best of the rest in the Premier League.

Good team? They're horrendous their only tactic was to hoof it to Lukaku absolutely nothing else they could do.

I think the beautiful football so beloved by Pep might have become a bit of a millstone. I think his 'beautiful football' philosophy has included the scoring of goals. It seems to me, sitting with the other FOCs in 323, that we want to score nothing but perfect goals. The two pens? Too easy to score those! Let's see if we can put together a complete set of passes from Claudio, through the midfield, to our striker force who will have two touches each before completely bamboozling the oppo defence and rattling the back of the net. I think that Pep needs to incorporate the notion of a 'shitty' goal, a 'shinner', a 'scabber'! And, for me, the shittier the better, but a goal all the same!

I'll be ringing City on Monday,2 scousers sat in front of us today, mid forties, they were relatively calm when they scored, but not the point,12 years ago if it was in kippax, the 2 would have been thrown out, along with a slap as well, but I suppose we live in a slightly different era these days,City will sell tickets to anybody though and it ain't on
