City v Everton post match

Good team? They're horrendous their only tactic was to hoof it to Lukaku absolutely nothing else they could do.

Got to say I was expecting more from Everton today. On another occasion we'd have put four or five past them and nobody would have thought it any more than we deserved. As it turned out they were just a better organised version of Sunderland who offered little more than lumping it long to Lukaku and time wasting from the 20th minute.

Loving this season so far. Every blue should be really (except those who are being fucked about unnecessarily at the ground for one reason or another) yet for some reason this place is as bad as it was at Pellers worse point.
It's fucking weird how so many can be so negative at this stage. Well, I say weird but reading a lot of posts it's not so much weird, just people who have such high, unreachable expectations that they're never going to be happy.
It has made for some proper grim reading the last few weeks. Half the drivel being posted on here is by folk who don't deserve this club.
Today has happened to every top club in the world on many occasions. Dominate, play some great stuff and fully deserve 3 points. But football doesn't always work like that. Sometimes the ball wont go in, the final pass is just off and the opposition score with their only chance of the match. Missing 2 pens will obviously be the talking point yet even without them we had chances to win. I'm not sure what some are after but it makes for some pretty fucking awful reading.

It's a shame really because there's some great posters on here - sadly they're outnumbered by complete fuckwits on days like today.

You've saved me some reading as I started at end of thread. Have looked at a sample of pages and it backs up your comments. That said, there are critcisms to be made but that is no surprise, given that it is early days for Pep and given that,IMO, we were never going to be able to make all the personnel changes needed to make the most of what Pep can bring. However, I am sure Pep can get more from his current resources and it isunfortuante that we have dropped points on a day when the number of touches our opponents had in our box was in single figures and they scored from the only decent chance, which was the only one of their three shots to be taken from inside the penalty area.

Everton were very lucky today on another day we would of put 3 or 4 past em thought some of our play was superb just wish sometimes we would shoot more instead of trying find that perfect goal

I haven't watched the last 3 games so I must be a lucky/unlucky charm of some sort but it sounded like it was just one of those games reading the reports. oh well move on to the next game

Some posters on here shouldn't be allowed more than one packet of paracetamol in the house the way they go on.

Pretty much one dimensional from EFC today. We played our socks off but ne'er had that slice of luck that turns possession football into points!
We had 2 penalties that we couldn't score, shouldn't need "a slice of luck". If you can't put 2 penalties away in the PL, you shouldn't expect to be winning, particularly if you gift the opposition a goal.

I'll be ringing City on Monday,2 scousers sat in front of us today, mid forties, they were relatively calm when they scored, but not the point,12 years ago if it was in kippax, the 2 would have been thrown out, along with a slap as well, but I suppose we live in a slightly different era these days,City will sell tickets to anybody though and it ain't on

Are you being serious or is this what's known as a Clarkie

Thought it was flat from the start,we seemed to be missing a spark, someone to grab the game and take it to them.
Impressed with Gundogan and Sane, both tired a bit,KDB nowhere near his best but could have won it with a cracking shot touched onto the post,Merlin ran the show but the crosses would have got Aguero a first half hat trick if he had played then.Nothing to worry about Spuds only drew, onwards and upwards we go.

We were brilliant at times still shaking my head at how we didnt win....

It was just one of those games that you look back on and think wow really how did we not just win that.

Some great football on display today, just couldn't find that final killer pass. Still guilty of trying to walk it in at times.

Tell you something.... we don't know how lucky we are to be watching football like that. Took my stepfather to the game today. He's a Birmingham City fan :-D He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Said some of it was "mesmerising".

Indeed, from the possession we had we shouldn't need a slice of luck, but there hasn't been a manager born who hasn't suggested that a wee slice of luck comes in handy. You do need a slice of luck in any game. One penalty miss is bad, and two is shocking, but the award of those two was not down to luck, and what about KDB's shot that nipped Stekenlenberg's fingernail and onto the post. That was just unlucky! Much of football is down to fractions of millimetres and for some of it to go 'right' needs pinpoint accuracy. If the players don't deliver then a little bit of luck comes in handy. From what I saw EFC had their own share and a substantial share of ours.

It was but you can't afford too many of them at home.

It's 2 points dropped today regardless of the performance which at times was excellent.

Everton did a good job parking the bus and making the most of their couple of opportunities on the counter. We moved the ball around in their half but they did a good job as human roadblocks when we got close, deflecting shots and getting a leg or body in front of passes and crosses. I'm quite sure most teams will set up to do that as they can't live with us in an open game so those of you who are wailing about it need to get a grip. Most times we will break through with goals but sometimes it just won't happen.

We need to be converting 90% of our penalties and Pep needs to get it sorted right away. Low, hard and to the keeper's right as close to the post as possible. It shouldn't be hard for professional footballers.

The reluctance of David Silva to actually take a shot at goal burns my brain out. You would think if a goalie is 6'7", a penalty taker having done his homework would keep his shot low. Otherwise, City were great, Everton got out of jail there.

Disagree. They defended like lions and that's an admirable quality in any team. They had to otherwise we'd have panned them the mood we were in at times!
