Barca v City Post Match Thread

Shocking some of them but maybe we shouldn't be surprised as Pep himself has warned us they would come as they get used to playing his way and sticking rigidly to his game plans.

My mind hasn't changed from last year though and that's that this side desperately needs 2 world class full backs.

It's certainly an area that will be upgraded but look at Barcelona tonight their defence was decimated and they had mascherano at right back, if it's the same players making fuck ups you drop them but when it's several taking it in turns it harder to cope with

Does it need to be such a mystery for Yaya? Afterall, regardless all the other stuff that has happened recently, it seemed obvious that as Yaya was getting older his overal performance over the year was in visible decline, there is nohing weird to me to replacing aging players with declining performances in principle and the picture seemed to fit Yaya perfectly even if he was still a ver good player capable to some great moments at times.

Manchester city is rich, splashing around money is more limited by how much they are allowed than they could, a team like that can afford to buy the very best available at any time and the longer term decline of an older player would be the obvious moment for a change.

Μy friend there is no other team in the world that Yaya could not be playing except Messis Barca.

quite a lot of them actually. I'd have their entire back line, keeper and some of their midfielders, same with Arsenal. I think you're wearing blue tinted glasses if you think our squad is in better shape than theirs. We're probably on par with Liverpool

Are we fuck on par with Liverpool

I can't believe some of the posts! Pep has had 14 games, yes 14 (including champions league). We've beaten the rags easily and almost everyone else! We've just been to camp nou, where we made some silly mistakes and lost to Europe's best team. Pep will make sure we learn from it. We have our own Brazilian wonder coming in Jan. It's gonna be some season!

Good post!

Manchester City suffered their heaviest Champions League defeat, conceding four goals for the first time. Brilliant

What is annoying me is that when we get a pass round the back to De Bruyne or Sterling, there are no good runs into the box for them to pick out a pass. It was just the same against Everton on Saturday. For all Dzeko's faults, making that run was one thing he was brilliant at. As for our corners!!!
Yeah.. i saw more than a couple of balls played into the box that Nacho would have buried with his eyes closed. And boy does he make those runs....right place, right time.

Goals change games simple as that, time after time we are just not clinical enough in front of goal, this follows on from the Everton game, and more so in Europe it gets shown up more,as with the top top teams the majority of the time they have a chance they take it...

Agree, we waste far too many chances.

Sorry but we beat Sunderland, Swansea, Stoke, the bottom 3,West ham, Bournemouth, piss poor United team. We should have beaten Everton I agree. But the only class team we have faced Spurs were all over us. It was good to watch and sure as hell Pellegrini wouldn't have got 18 points on the spin.
We got beat by 3 of them teams last season under Pellegrini so not sure how you've come up with that

They are not the best team in Europe but with the front 3 they are capable of beating anyone

Was any oil synthetic sprayed at Nou Camp - there were just too many players slipping and all of them MC. Either MC did not have the right shoes or Barc had the right shoes - maybe shoes to handle the slightly slippery conditions ?

Before everyone starts saying it is crazy idea - in US the multiple SuperBowl champions New England Patrioits were caught with playing with deflated balls. Did not stop them because they had the strongest team and were usually favorites.

So what, did you expect us to win every game? We've lost twice out of 15 games so far yet still top of the league and 2nd in the group (and let's be honest we were always gonna finish 2nd the moment the draw was out) and yet some on here are acting like the world's gonna end.

It's a marathon not a race, enjoy the ride and stop acting like rags everytime we don't win(not you specifically)

If say we are on a par with Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal, we don't stand out and are not going to walk the league like so many on here seem to think and are imo the least clinical and sloppiest out of the four. We haven't a cat in hells chance of winning the CL and one of four possibly six sides in the running for the PL.

I am calming down a bit. Rose for sure at LB, despite the diving. Lloris but would Pep want him, he's not a sweeper. Maybe Walker as we are piss poor in that position. Dele Ali obviously. Erickson maybe. Dier yes.

Arsenal have a whole loead of talent I agree. But the point is Pep is supposed to be a football genius whereas he currently look like a guy who got lucky just like Luis Enrique. Surely great managers beat better teams by outhinking the opposition

Totally expecting the loads of negative on here.

Result didn't reflect result. We played our best match vs Barca and it turned in to a heavy defeat. Bravo had a great game up until the first mistake and the red card. And so on.

Tactics spot on. Nothing wrong there. Disappointed but the signed are good.
