Angelino & Maffeo

Since Pep likes to do craziness... maybe figure a way to get
Maffeo/Angelino at one back; Ota Stones at CB and VK at the other back?
gotta get creative, especially if there isn't an imminent move of some type this winter.

Its probably not the best time to bring them in. Certainly not both at the same time. The system is very demanding and the defence as a a whole is shaky. Might be throwing them into the lions den.

Haven't they both been training with the first team since the start of the season or are they with the EDS still? If they have been with the first team all this time then it might be an indication they are being readied for some first team games, they have to be ready though, the idea of throwing them in unprepared and seeing how well they do is not realistic.

Been saying the same thing since Spurs, this is the right time. Zabaleta and Kolarov have been poor, Clichy's hardly tearing up trees and our only decent full back (Sagna) is injured.

I'd probably start Maffeo this weekend and give Angelino some game time in the next week. We need to start blooding a few youngsters through to know we have options, much like most of us trust A. Garcia after that Swansea performance.

What was the point of him being on the bench then? He is certainly more experienced than Otamendi at right back anyway

Also, if it'd effect his confidence then he'll never make it at the top level, he'd more than likely come away full of beans regardless of the result as he'd have learnt a lot more playing vs one of the best wingers in the world than he will barely having to do anything vs say Almen Abdi of Sheffield Wednesday in the 3rd round of the fa cup.

Really?? Otamendi has made a few appearances for Argentina at Right Back....?

we are apparently looking at bellerin and other left backs. i can't see either of them making it at city tbh

Surely simply just a quick look at our fullback situation would tell you that us looking at Bellerin or a LB means absolutely fuck all because we need 4 new full backs. If 2 came from outside, and the other 2 were Maffeo and Angelino then that would be the club realising it's plans for the academy.

3 of the current fullbacks are out of contract next year, so the idea that us looking at Bellerin means someone like Maffeo is laughable.

how in any way is that laughable. if we buy bellerin more than likely he will play the majority of games. maffeo will be a bench warmer imo and young players want to play. plenty of young players leave to get first team football, not exactly laughable to think maffeo could do that........

You think Maffeo at 19 will leave in a fit of rage because he's gone from 3rd choice RB to second choice over the summer? Give me a break.

Yeah 2 appearances(5 goals conceded) in 2010 under tactical stalwart Maradona would not make him an expert aha ..Whereas Right-back is Maffeo's life

Never stated he was an expert, but to suggest a player with less than 15 appearances to his name in the Spanish second league is more "experienced" i would argue with this.

Playing for Argentina, in a World Cup (despite losing heavily to Germany) would still make him more experienced in my opinion.....just thought that it was strange sentence to use for a 19 yr old.
